No question Michigan was trying to throw the football more this year and we saw that in the first three games. After last game and now getting into conference play will UM lean more on the running game as they have the last two years?

Being told that it appears there will be some sort of change on the offensive line. LaDarius Henderson has spent a lot of time with the ones this week at left tackle, which has bumped Karsen Barnhart to the right side of the line.

Many expected this was going to be the starting lineup to begin the year before camp so it appears the offense will give it a go on Saturday.

Again, we'll see if this happens but that's what the early practice returns suggest.

2025 five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood is coming off a visit to Boulder to check out the Colorado-Colorado State game over the weekend and it was quite the visit to make. The stars were out in full force, the atmosphere was crazy and the game ended up being really good. A recipe for a strong visit.

Should Michigan be nervous about Coach Prime? I asked someone close to Underwood about the visit.

As it sits right now, Michigan shouldn't feel nervous that Colorado is going to come in and steal Underwood from under their nose. Not without a fight at, least. While the visit was a good one, it wasn't enough to propel the Buffaloes into the first or second spot. According to someone in Underwood's circle, Colorado is likely sitting outside the top three, likely at number four. However, the visit did open his eyes a little bit and made him think it could be a place where he could see himself playing.

He's had the offer from Colorado since May and the attitude heading into the visit was, hey, it's Prime, you have to at least check it out and see what he's talking about. That attitude changed slightly coming out of the visit.

I still THINK that Michigan and LSU continue to man the top spots in his recruitment, and I THINK that the Wolverines are sitting in the top spot but the program simply can't rest here with the belief that he's an in-state school and he's guaranteed to not leave the state. With other schools going to try and push to get a visit, and the aftermath of the Colorado visit, it's my OPINION that the program needs to step up its efforts a little more. Not saying they weren't before but Underwood is a kid you just can't let leave the state. There's no way that can happen.


As for what's next, Underwood is eyeing a visit to Ann Arbor for the Ohio State game for his game-day visit. He will be at Penn State this weekend.

According to my source, the January 6th announcement date still looks to be on-track to be made, with my source saying it's "90%" likely.

Well… Maybe but he has definitely regressed zero and 10 as a starter.

We've continued to receive questions about a new injury that has popped up since the Bowling Green game that we would like to address. The questions are becoming too much to ignore.

I don't like discussing injury specifics so I am going to be intentionally vague here to protect sources and the players. I unfortunately have a job to do and I also need to respect privacy so it's a difficult spot I am in.

I know there was a post on the boards suggesting that Kenneth Grant was injured during the Bowling Green game. That is not accurate, it did not happen.

What I can confirm is that Mason Graham was injured during the game and the hope is that he will be out for two games and will be back after that. Again, I can't get into specifics because I want to protect sources and medical stuff.

Michigan IS expecting him back, so it's not long-term, but unfortunate no matter which way you spin it.

Penn State--Allar (pretty good and a lot of potential, cannon arm)

Michigan--JJ (stud, hopefully just a bad night and a one-off against BG)

OSU--McCord (meh, he hasn't really impressed me)

Rutgers--Wimsatt (dude can't hit the broad side of a barn, terrible passer)

Mary Land--Little Tua (good but throws boneheaded INTs at the worst times)

Illinois--Luke Altmyer (absolutely terrible, likes to throw passes to the other team)

MSU--Noah Kim (about 180 lbs, MAC-caliber QB, and it's obvious why he sat on the bench for 10 years)

Where coming into the season, it was probably 90/10 that Donovan Edwards would enter the draft (the Don was basically saying "Imma be Marshall Faulk this season") and 70/30 Rod Moore would, as well... those numbers have come way down 3 weeks in, with Edwards still trying to get in gear and Moore still not ready to play at all.

I'd say it's at least 50/50, maybe better, that both of those guys are back next season.

And I would say the odds of Harrell, McGregor and Paige being back for a 5th year have each ticked up slightly, although I'd still say it's sub-50/50 on Harrell and Paige.

I would also say that the odds of JJ going pro were dented slightly this last week. Still think it's 75-80% this is it for him, as long as the BGSU game was just a one-off glitch. But Drake Maye and McCarthy, who were the consensus #2 and #3 QB's in the draft heading into the season, have each hit speedbumps, while guys like Michael Penix and Bo Nix have continued their trajectories, Quinn Ewers has resumed his, and Shedeur Sanders has begun to state his case. The pecking order behind Caleb Williams is more muddled than it was a month ago.
