Insider Intel: What we know, and what we don't, regarding Harbaugh's contract

After doing some digging, I wanted to expand upon what the landscape of everything looks like after the Sunday regents meeting and the clear path to get an extension into the hands of Jim Harbaugh sooner rather than later.

From my understanding, both Warde Manuel and Santa Ono had agreed that proceeding ahead as planned with a contract extension was the next logical move and wanted to present it to the regents for their consent. We are told consent was given to Manuel to proceed with the extension.

It was described to me that Ono and Manuel already had what to do next planned out, they just needed to run it by the regents.

Outside of anything unforeseen in terms of the investigation, which we are not expecting, there are currently no roadblocks between Michigan and Harbaugh to get a deal done.

The question is, when?

That's what we don't know. We have heard unconfirmed rumors that it could be done as soon as this Friday but, again, they are unconfirmed at this time. We will continue to dig and to get a better feel for when this is coming down.

There really doesn't need to be much work done on this, as both Michigan and Harbaugh had agreed to terms prior to the pause in talks when the NCAA news came out. Just no physical contract was presented.

Stay tuned as this is moving quickly and, at this point, it wouldn't be a surprise to hear some further movement coming soon.

Update 1: I don't speak much on contract figures as I let that all come out once the FOIAs are done and all that, but we've heard early reports of $12 million per season. Believe it's 5/$60 mm.
Update 2: From a reliable source: "Big buyout. This will be his last job."

Happy second birthday, M&BR!

We launched on this day two years ago, which is crazy for me to even think about as it feels like I’ve been around much longer.

It’s been a pleasure to get to know a lot of you, even meeting some of you in real life. Would love to meet more of you.

We’ve come a long way from when we first started. When I took over, I knew deep down this was what I wanted to do but I was terrified. Could we keep up? How can we establish ourselves when we’re the new kids on the block in a market full of experience?

I think that terror, or at least that thought in the back of my mind, motivated me and kept me going.

We’re not where we want to be, we’re not a finished product by any means, but we’ve grown a lot and continue to forge ahead.

Thank you for sticking with us, the community is why we’re here and why we’re going to make waves in the market into the future.

Consider why Michigan is

fast tracking Harbaugh's contract.

This is Michigan telling the NCAA to FLUP off.
That Harbaugh and Connor are innocent of the false allegations.

I will not doubt that OSU will be exposed for fabricating a lie. While the NCAA are co-conspirators to take Harbaugh and Michigan down.

This conspiracy is going to put a massive black eye on OSU becoming known as OHIO SOFT.

The NCAA will take a huge PR hit for going after Harbaugh for his support of revenue sharing for college athletes due to the insane money the NCAA earns for exploiting these college athletes.

Insider Intel: On the NCAA visit, evidence and more

I confirmed last night that the NCAA is set to visit Michigan this week. After doing some further digging, it appears that the NCAA will be making the trip tomorrow. The purpose of the visit still remains unclear but should get a clearer picture once the visit is made.

In the mean time, the NCAA has still yet to hand over evidence to Michigan, Warde Manuel has been DEMANDING evidence from them but still hasn’t received it. That has been something he’s been hounding the NCAA about—but has yet to received anything.

The major storyline remaining is that the NCAA have not yet ruled out the possibility of Stalions attending a game in person and are focusing on whether he attended a specific game.

Again, it’s still showing that no other U-M staffers are involved but it’s becoming increasingly likely that the program needs to distance himself from Stalions, throw him to the wolves and move on.

More when I can get it.

Working on the Harbaugh stuff

I know I’ve been asked a couple times about it. I am working on it.

I’ll leave you with this from yesterday that things were headed in the right direction.

Payton Thorne is chiming in. El oh El

Disregard the fact that Coleman was double teamed and PT couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. And Coleman had like 100 yards receiving in the first half, but carry on PT.

Thorne spent three years as a QB for the Michigan State football program. Naturally, he played against Michigan several times before he transferred to Auburn. He are his thoughts on the Wolverines’ current trouble:

“After I heard that, it is interesting. It makes you think of a couple plays we had where I was scratching my head,” the veteran QB said, per Nathan King
