Something to discuss/consider…

There is talk that the two-game suspension Sherrone Moore is serving is a negotiated one between Michigan and the NCAA.

I am working on confirming this and not sure I can considering everything is still active in terms of negotiations but I have heard it from people I trust.

I will see what I can find out but it would make sense to me considering the odd timing of when the suspensions are taking place. We’ll see if the NCAA wants to tack on more or what.

Recruiting Michigan sits at No. 37 in the Recruiting Rankings: Why am I not concerned?

Read: 'Michigan sits at No. 37 in the Recruiting Rankings: Why am I not concerned?'

Apologies, this kind of opinion-related content isn't going to be a common feature of my reporting, as I prefer to only produce cold, hard facts that I have dug up from proven, reliable sources. However, given the cool on Michigan Recruiting over recent weeks, I decided to switch it up a little bit today.

Another quick site update

I’m sorry I’ve been a little silent as of late, been trying to navigate this transition and have had some things come up.

Wanted to continue to provide some updates for you all about what’s next.

For the next few weeks, it’s going to be status quo for all of us. No changes, no new systems and same infrastructure.

As of right now, we’re looking at a July 1 timeframe when things will start to change across the network. I would be prepared for the site to start looking like On3’s system, which includes the site as a whole AND message boards. There shouldn’t be any kind of drastic changes with how the site will function but we’ll be getting a much needed upgrade as we modernize the site. I’ve seen mock ups of a few things and I love it. It’s what we’ve been missing.

Again, NO changes will be made as for the direction of the site as a whole. Possibly some branding differences and other minor tweaks but those will be figured out when we get there. Who we are, how we report and how the community functions does not change.

As for subscriptions, I don’t have any answers for those who have subscriptions to Rivals and On3 but I do know there is some talk of a bundle deal for both where you can get read-only access to the other network (and vice versa if a new subscriber wants to read us). I will share what I know as soon as I get something more concrete. A lot of it is going to be simply transferred over.

This is going to be a huge opportunity to get some eyeballs on us and provide a new level of content with features and support from both a national and organizational standpoint that we have desperately needed for a long time.

Very exciting times ahead. Stay tuned.

Recruiting INTEL: Recruiting Notebook

Sorry guys, I'm slammed with assessments at the moment! Also, there hasn't been that much recruiting going on with Michigan at the moment, given the sanctions.

Login to view embedded media As first reported by On3's EJ Holland, Zion Robinson tells me that he has scheduled an official visit to Michigan for the 13th of June. He also tells me that he has an unofficial Top 4 currently, which I'm assuming includes Michigan, Stanford, Miami, and Baylor (will update this thread once I get confirmation).

Zion Robinson has become a really high priority for Ron Bellamy in recent months. Robinson's 6'4" frame and high-level speed would make him a high-upside outside receiver for Bryce Underwood next season.

Login to view embedded media Today, Michigan made the Top 10 schools for rising 2026 DL Brian Harris, who is a teammate of U.M. commit Brody Jennings at Mandarin H.S. in Jacksonville, FL. Harris has an official visit scheduled to Ann Arbor for the 13th of June after visiting unofficially in late March.

The 6'4" 290-pounder currently has a FutureCast to land with Penn State

Login to view embedded media Rising 2028 EDGE Luke Nabors gave me a full insight into how Michigan stands in his recruitment ahead of his visit to Ann Arbor for the program's home-opener against New Mexico in August.
Michigan stands high in my recruiting because of a couple reasons: Michigan is prestigious for producing elite edges, I trust Coach Espo with my development if I were to come there. To be completely honest, with it being so early in my recruiting process I haven’t got to experience everything and take it all in so I have no front runners. Everyone shows the same amount of love, but, some schools show a little more though like Clemson, Michigan, Texas A&M, FSU, USC, and Auburn.

Login to view embedded media I spoke to emerging 2027 IOL target William Tobin, who commented only positively on Michigan. He's set to return to Ann Arbor for the program's Big Man Camp after visiting last year for the BBQ at the Big House in June.
I have had the opportunity to be down to Ann Arbor a couple of times. I was able to be at The BBQ at the Big House last summer and get some one on one work in with Coach Newsome which was an awesome experience. This spring I was able to make it down for a few spring practice visits as well, and the atmosphere there is hard to beat. I will be down for the Big Man Camp this summer and can't wait to compete. I don't have a front runner in my recruitment and I am open to any opportunities, but I would love to play for a team with a culture and atmosphere like Michigan. Go Blue!

I'm pretty sick of the whole thing.

I have often stated that I just want it to be over, but it never seems to be over.

Going against the NCAA has proven to be a losing effort.

First, there was too much practice time under Rich Rod. Result? We lost.

Next, it was Harbaugh vs the NCAA/SEC over summer camps. Result? We lost.

Hamburger-gate. Not only did we lose, but our own administration suspended Harbaugh. Result? They won.

Sign-gate. Our conference suspended Harbaugh. To me, this was one of the most egregious things ever. I firmly believe that Sign-gate was within the letter of the law of the rules, and zero penalties should have come from it. This media-driven episode ended up with us being penalized for something that everyone does. It was a travesty for sure, but the result is we lost.

For most of these events, we read about the high-priced Michigan lawyers, the coming injunctions, and even Attorney Tom Mars getting involved. For all of it, have we had one win? It doesn't feel like it.

Over a three-year span, we will have had our head coach suspended for a total of EIGHT games. For What? A hamburger and a practice everyone does.

I just want it to be over.

Clarification on Show Cause

I saw Urban was on Triple Option yesterday. I generally actually like his analysis and takes, but he was on about how a Show Cause means that you can't coach. (Link)(I know the media says that, but I have also heard that it makes it harder to get hired and now you must face punishments depending on the terms of it if you are hired during that period. I also remember reading that it doesn't affect you at your current job.

Anyone know what the truth actually is? As usual, with the NCAA it is clear as mud...

Also I would be remiss if I didn't post our very own's @Trevor McCue's great dunk from last night

OT NBA Playoffs

Cleveland without Garland, Mobley, and Hunter. If they go down 2-0 then have to head over to Indiana... geez. Ty Jerome is nice to fill in at the 1 for Garland and I suppose you've got Okoro and Strus providing depth at the 3 for Hunter, but Mobley is a massive miss. Dean Wade and Tristan Thompson are not NBA-playoffs level big-men. Pacers surely just utilize the pick & roll action against Allen to draw him out of the paint and leave the dunkers spot wide open or corners open depending on how the ball swings around the court. Kenny Atkinson is a good coach (obviously, considering he just won COTY), but this game will surely be a serious challenge for him.

Massive game for Donovan Mitchell - can prove himself as the kind of player who can truly lead his team to a chip as a No. 1 scorer.

I would've had the Cavs beating the Pacers as the closest thing to a lock of all the conference semi-finals series to be honest.

NCAA Settlement hangs in the balance

The NCAA in true NCAA fashion are daring the judge in the House settlement case to throw out the agreement and once again install chaos and make the NCAA less viable than it has ever been.
The judge made it clear that protections needed to exist for players impacted by new roster limits, that they should be grandfathered in or the limits should have a phase in.

Well, the best the NCAA could do is ALLOW schools to grandfather in players but not REQUIRE. We could be heading to schools paying players where the only guidance is from their state legislature.
