Insider Another thing I'm curious to see play out...

Is whether Miller Moss from USC hits the portal after the season. He was benched this week.

I absolutely do get the sense that Michigan would pursue and I also get the sense that the interest would be reciprocated. On top of that, we're hearing that this wouldn't be an either/or situation in terms of the Bryce Underwood pursuit. Michigan would go after an experienced QB regardless if it gets Underwood or not AND if the pursuit makes sense. Moss checks a lot of boxes when it comes to experience.

Let's put it this way: He's definitely not the problem at USC.

Recruiting On Underwood and LSU

At this point of the week, I am expecting Bryce Underwood to make the trip to LSU this weekend. I DO NOT think that signals alarm bells just yet. Obviously, it's not great news and if he doesn't make that trip, the odds go up for Michigan. But being in Baton Rouge this weekend isn't the end of the pursuit. People I speak to aren't worried and were always expecting him to make that trip.

This means that LSU is going to get a final crack at this thing before he decides. I am still fascinated to see what happens with Joe Sloan and ECU, if anything. I know that would damage LSU's chances if he were to depart this offseason. So we will see what happens.

What I would say right now is to stay the course. Don't get too high, don't get too low about this weekend. Let it play out.

Recruiting One thing I am looking for...

Is how soon Elijah Dotson flips to Michigan from Pittsburgh. I am absolutely expecting it to happen.

The sooner this happens, the sooner you have someone that can publicly rally the Bryce Underwood to Michigan crowd from Belleville. Time is of the essence here as Underwood is an early enrollee so you have less than a month to get it done.

Honestly, I always assumed it would be done by now but not yet. Should be soon.

Notes on a couple flip targets....

Michigan hosted multiple flip targets this weekend. There’s good news and bad news based on the buzz coming out of the weekend. Let’s start with the good.

Belleville (Mich.) High defensive back Elijah Dotson is said to have really enjoyed his visit according to sources. The in-state standout has really responded well to Michigan turning up the heat in his recruitment lately. I know it’s easy for people to make the assumption that this started because Dotson is teammates with five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood. But the Wolverines would have needed to recruit Dotson anyway. He’s a great prospect in their backyard. It doesn’t make sense to let him go to Pitt without a fight.

Now for the bad news. Michigan had been trending with Indiana defensive end commit Triston Abram. The team has worked hard to flip him away from coach Curt Cignett’s group but I’m told that as the Hoosiers keep winning that gets tougher. There seems to be a bright future in Bloomington and kids want to be part of that. Especially ones that bought in early to what Cignetti and his staff have been selling.

Things can always change but I’d expect Abram to stick with his Indiana pledge.

Recruiting 2025 NC State WR commit Jamar Browder enjoys 'electric' visit to Michigan

2025 NC State wide receiver commit Jamar Browder was at Michigan this past weekend for an OV. It was his second visit to Ann Arbor in just over a month.

"My favorite part was seeing the fans."

Browder recaps his latest trip to U-M:

Reactions: bluestrom

Uh, not normally this guy, but there should be a LONG look at that first TD....

...and everything that went into that being botched.

First of all CBS. There is FOREVER between when the play ends and when the extra point is kicked. Oregons play clock runs down to nothing. They show two replays that don't show the drop but don't show the one that does.

CBS is showing no replays while waiting for official confirmation, but the second the kick goes through they show the angle that shows the drop.

Now when the replay is shown you see a ref staring RIGHT AT the player - almost impossible to conceive him missing it.

Then the automatic review.

We weren't winning the game but this situation is so bad, I can guarantee you Moore is throwing a fit and he should be - the negligence (or worse) is off the charts.

By the way you adjust their points to 34 and we give up 2 more points and 20 less yards than OSU did, with a band aid secondary - the Wink angst is misplaced as it pertains to the last few weeks IMO.

Recruiting What we’re hearing on Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng

Michigan hosted five-star linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng this weekend for yet another unofficial to campus. He spent multiple days in Ann Arbor, which is always a good sign.

After doing some digging around, I can comfortably say that the Wolverines are right there for him currently. Certainly right at the top to the point where things are going to be interesting when it comes time to him making a decision.

Folks in U-M circles feel good with what they’ve been able to do here and are looking at this as something that could get over the finish line.

Of course, he has a visit to Notre Dame scheduled for this weekend who are considered the biggest threat.

A bit of a dark-horse program that have some folks concerned is Texas. If they can survive a Texas push, they’ll be in a good spot.

I’ll continue to monitor this situation but, man, the program has done a mighty fine job leapfrogging some programs who have been involved in this thing for a long time.
