Walker also recently spoke with Tide Illustrated’s Brandon Howard about his interest in Alabama, as Walker was supposed to visit there last weekend but didn’t due to a family emergency.

Walker is going to continue to make the rounds to different schools this fall and has been open to hearing from others despite his commitment to the Wolverines.

Currently, he says he is hearing from Miami, Penn State, LSU, Oklahoma and Alabama the most.

Insider This week in The Den: A quiet week two

Not much to take away from this week, which I suppose is a good thing depending on who you're asking. I have a few updates but nothing earth-shattering to report.

Let's get started.

- As of yesterday, we are told that LaDarius Henderson and Trente Jones will get the start at the tackle positions with Drake Nugent at center. We'll report back if there are any changes to that but the staff have been fairly consistent with going with the Michigan Method for weeks one and two. (UPDATE 2:50 p.m.: And just like that, I have a new report today that it will be the same group to start this week on the offensive line: Barnhart, Keegan, Nugent, Zinter, Hinton).

We'll see what it looks like tomorrow.

- Both Will Johnson and Rod Moore are close to a return, very close. I believe if this were later in the year both would've played in the opener but I would not be shocked if both gave it a go tomorrow. The staff could decide to shelve the two for one more week just to be on the safe side.

- We're also hearing that Ben Hall is a bit banged up and it's unknown whether he will see action on Saturday. We'll obviously see what happens tomorrow and if he decides to give it a go.

- Matthew Hibner had been recovering from offseason surgery and missed most of fall camp. Now that he's back into the swing of things, we're told he's rising up the depth chart and has jumped a few people. The staff are really high on him athletically, as they believe he can be a freak athlete at the tight end position. They have similar thoughts with Marlin Kelin, too.

OK - we're through week 1. Who are your 4 CFP teams?

Here are my 4 - would love to see who everyone has making the CFP.

1-Michigan
2-FSU
3-Alabama
4-Georgia

I have very high confidence in FSU and Michigan. FSU is a legit national title contender this year. Would love to see a Michigan/FSU CFP final.

No clue on the other 2, but for now I'll take Alabama and Georgia. I like Washington, but I think the Pac 12 beats up on themselves (much like last year) - and no one gets out without 1-2 losses.

Insider Michigan to partner with NIL platform headed by former player

Looks like another NIL platform will be partnering with Michigan soon.

I spoke with former U-M player Gabe Newburg this week and it appears that the company he is working with, nXlvl, is working on something called The Block with Michigan.

It's not a club or a collective but something completely brand new and unique, according to Newburg.

From the samples Newburg provided, it looks like a visual resume that athletes can use. This is only the first piece of the puzzle for The Block and it hasn't been fully released to the world yet. Currently waiting on a press release to share.

Here's a sneak peek: https://nxconnect.me/trevor.keegan

More details when I have them.
