What I find funny when watching/ reading UM Iowa Previews so far is

that in order to TRY to make the game sound interesting everyone is raving about Iowa defense and how amazing it is - Well I have some bad news for Iowa fans - Iowa's defense is good. v good. ranked #7 in overall defense - BUT unfortunately for them UM defense is ranked #1 ( or 2 ) !!! and our defense definitely does not come along with an offense ranked #132 !!!!! Look. Usual things - Do not give the ball to them or have special teams break downs and I am not sure how Iowa moves the ball on us let alone score TDs. Meanwhile you know who the other top 3 defenses are ? yep PSU and OSU - and we were able to move the ball on them - Not to mention the competition Iowa has faced included common opponents like MSU. MINN ( they LOST ) NEB and PSU ( shut out ! ). Opponents we blew out Lets take care of business. stay heathy - and on to CFP ! #NotFinished

I have a customer that bleeds OSU scarlet.

What follows is an accurate account of our interaction today

Their order was ready for pick-up today. Generally speaking, I try to take the high road in situations like this. I was all prepared to say it was a great game between two great teams, and I'm grateful we came out on top. I planned to leave it there.

Well, first of all, the husband who was in last time telling me Harbaugh was going to be fired didn't even have the balls to come in. He sent the wife. What a puss.

So, she comes in and sees me decked out in maize and blue from head to toe and immediately goes into excuse mode. The TD was an Int. The refs marked the ball short for us all day. We didn't get a single break all day long. We outgained you in total yards and on and on.

I just let her talk. Then I said OSU had a great team. They gave us all we wanted and all they had. It just wasn't enough. Your guy missed his FG, and our guy didn't. Your guy threw two Int., but our guy did not. You needed to stop us with eight minutes to go, but you could not. You still had a chance to win in the end, but you did not. On Saturday, the best team won. The best team was Michigan.

I also added that I know every Buckeye in America thinks the Wilson TD was an interception, but by rule, once the ball crosses the goal line, the play is over.

She then said it won't matter when the NCAA takes away Michigan's wins from the last few years. I looked her straight in the eye and said, seriously? That's the strategy for OSU to beat Michigan now? That's kind of embarrassing, don't you think? I mean, it's bad enough that your coach lost to the substitute teacher. Now, you need the NCAA to do what the team can't? I said, come on, it was a great game, and you lost. Deal with it and try harder next year. Nobody wins them all. I said this isn't the kind of conversation with a million excuses we should be having. She said, well, your team isn't the one that lost. I said, Well, you're right about that. I smiled and said, I have to get back to work. Have a nice day; tell Jim (her hubby) I missed him today. Go Blue!

After she left, her account manager came in and said, what the hell game was she watching? She's a lunatic. I said we call them bucknuts for a reason. He shook his head and said I thought she was going to cry or punch you, or both. I just laughed.

Today was such a great day.

In years past, I was always worried about the emotional letdown.

I have always believed you only have so much emotional gas in your tank during the season. Even though JJ was banged up, I thought we saw the effects of an emotional lull at Maryland.

Last week was perhaps the most emotional game these kids have ever played. There was so much on the line and so many things against them. I could palpably feel the intensity through the TV.

Usually, I would have an elevated level of concern about the game against Iowa, BUT! I don't have that concern this year. This team is the most mentally tough team I have ever seen in my life. The only other team that comes close or matches this team is the '97 NC team. Woodson was the strongman for that team. Others were fantastic on that team, too, but this team seems to have unparalleled leaders in every position group.

Also, with Harbaugh back on the sidelines, this team will want to make a statement for the number one seed.

We are watching the best Michigan football era of my lifetime. Enjoy the ride.

Go Blue!

Recruiting New FutureCast prediction 11/27

Good vibes continue to come out of the visit weekend, especially in the 2025 class.

After coming out of the weekend, I feel very good about Michigan’s chances with DL Jaylen Williams.

He left the visit blown away, it really did a number on him in a good way.

Not sure how imminent a decision would be but I expect Michigan to be the choice when that time comes.

Insider Intel: On Jim Harbaugh's contract and where things stand

Did some asking around about Jim Harbaugh's contract situation moving forward and was able to get a better sense of where things stand and the expectations moving forward.

I continue to feel confident that a deal between Michigan and Jim Harbaugh will get done in the near future. I hope to get more specifics on that soon but no one seems to be wavering in that regard. If I had to turn it into a football analogy, Michigan is in the red zone and driving in terms of completion.

There was talk about waiting until the university receives a Notice of Allegations from the NCAA to make sure there weren't any surprises in there. However, confidence is high that the evidence the NCAA claims to have won't be damning to derail any kind of extension talk between Harbaugh and U-M.

Let me be clear, the talks were never "on hold" and Santa Ono and Warde Manuel wanted to wait until after the investigation wrapped up. Harbaugh was fully aware of this and it hasn't discouraged him or his camp one bit.

There is a push from higher-ups in the university to get this deal done sooner. When will that be? I hope to find out soon.

I will add, that the NCAA said it would wrap up its investigation by the end of November.

While the timing with this week and the investigation line up, it's not a slam-dunk deal it gets done in the next few days. With that said, this certainly feels like only a matter of time at this point.

On a different note, there is also a push by the AD to lock up Sherrone Moore and make sure he's taken care of. Again, Moore has shown zero desire to leave and has done nothing but share his love for the program and for Jim Harbaugh. That tells you all you need to know. I suspect Moore will come after the Harbaugh extension is done and dusted.

We have been told that Moore has also turned down at least one job interview opportunity within the last few days.

Things seem to be on the same track moving forward.

More when I have it.

Insider On Chris Partridge’s statement…

He is telling the truth about having no knowledge of the sign-stealing stuff.

That is legitimate and the NCAA has no evidence of such.

The destroying of evidence comes from the NCAA, as they believed that he was deleting emails. Again, not proved but that’s how it was laid out to me.

It sounds like he WAS trying to not cooperate with the investigation, though, which was ultimately his downfall.

It’s not sinister and overall unfortunate.

OSU 11 Warriors Site

As I perused the OSU Board, the thread that had the most responses stood out to me:

"The 2021 Class is Now 0-3 vs Michigan".

Why? Because that class was supposedly the greatest class of ranked talent that OSU has ever signed in the rankings period- But, in comparison to expectations, some will be able to leave for the draft on potential, and others haven't even emerged to that point.

Before anyone utters the words "J.J. was a 5-star", I will drop this list right here of OSU recruits ranked higher than J.J. that would have an unbiased observer amazed than NOT ONE of these players has been better.

J.T. Tuimoloau came in as a "bust proof" guy, but his career has mirrored Rashan Gary's at Michigan: More impressive vs the run- Tuimoloau, who was the #7 recruit nationally has a career-high 4 sacks so far this season (leading OSU) and 7 total tackles and no sacks in three career games (all starts) vs Michigan:
Login to view embedded media J.T. would just be one example if it wasn't for the fact that Zach Harrison has a similar, underwhelming OSU career. Yes, he was drafted, but did he have the career that OSU fans have come to expect from their 5-star DEs (The Bosas, Chase Young)? He was a top 25 national recruit, and the DE, who ended his 4-year career with 12 total sacks.

Let me stop at Jack Sawyer and point out the fact that he is the 2nd elite-ranked recruited pass-rusher in OSU's 2021 class, 2nd on the team behind J.T. with 3.5 sacks, and 11 career sacks in 3 seasons.

Juxtapose that to our more conservatively-ranked classes...Which are yielding similar or better results in NFL Drafts- For example, our 22nd ranked 2018 class yielded Aiden Hutchinson, a sub top 100 recruit who became the #2 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

OSU's elite DEs are being outplayed by their Michigan counterparts: former 3-star recruits Jalen Harrell (5.5 sacks this season, 8 in the two seasons he has started), and Josiah Stewart (4.5 sacks). Based on their rankings, fans were expecting more Aiden/Ojabo at this point-

One of the most obvious misses was the guy who called "game":

From right around the corner from CBus, but Moore would've dropped OSU's all important recruit ranking average.

Some will try to counterargue UGA...and Bama (which actually fits more alongside OSU than with UGA), but there seem to be more top programs taking steps back from dominating college football with great classes than there used to be: USC, OSU, Clemson, and Bama are no longer so easily penciled in. Before pointing out Bama's record, and Bama has uncharacteristically had defensive issues

Point at Bama's record all you like, they weren't in shootouts with teams the level of Auburn, A&M, and Arkansas, where they pulled out late wins, 4 years ago when they had one of the most dominant Ds and OLs- Not true anymore...

NIL, along with the insta-portal HAVE evened things out, and not necessarily through PtP- TCU and Cincinnati have made the BCS, and KSU and Baylor were already edging out Oklahoma and Texas in the Big 12. USC has all the star quality, but Utah and Washington, along with Oregon, have eclipsed that program.

Only Oregon (which was already very good prior to the changes) is heavily involved in paying recruits, but even then, the transfer portal gave that program their star QB.

Saying all that to say this:

Roster compositions are changing, and the strict alignment of those who recruit the best, is now shifting greatly to other aspects such as portal transfers and retention of older players who may have put their names into the draft.

it's an exciting time for Michigan, as I believe that we will be maybe not more active in the portal than last offseason, but I DO believe that we will be in on some bigger names, and may have even more successful contributors than this season: Hausmann, Stewart, Barner, Nugent, Henderson, Wallace, and James Turner have been great, and looking at their contributions, I'm thinking that this program has its pulse on those who will be great program fits going forward.

Hey all..What a Game Eh? I was Never Worried and Woke Up Confident that Day would Choke..and I was Right..

First..Id like to say hello to any of the 10-20 year posters that wisely didn’t go to On3. That place just sucks. It’s digressed to Twitter flame behavior from all the new members and when I complained about it, I lost posting privileges for 6 months. Just a day back, I was suspended again for another 6 months with no explanation why both times. They have a bunch of new mods who have it out for me, and the old mods, who told me I was “family” dozens of times, ghosted me when I tried to contact Them. The place is infested with twitter like flame post attacks from the mass of new posters who are more interested in being infantile jerks than talking Michigan sports. The only reason I haven’t cancelled yet is I want to make one final arsonist post, setting on fire all the things that absolutely suck and give a double finger salute goodbye.

I never cancelled my account here because I kinda knew On3 was going to suck. Hope you guys will welcome me back.

As for The Game, I had just as much fun watching Ryan Day almost have a stroke on the sidelines as watching Michigan’s 3 star dogs..real hungry underrated dudes on Michigan..again smash Ryan Day’s suburban really nice guys 5 stars without an ounce of dog in them. I hope Day stays in Cowtown forever..lol. The weirdest thing about Day…he dyes his beard. Only sociopaths dye their beards. And you know what? Despite losing 12 starting seniors and likely JJ, Michigan will win again next year, Day is a fake tough guy that just got badly out-coached by Moore in his 4th game, who was just a TE Coach when he was hired. If Harbaugh leads M to the Championship and leaves for the NFL, Michigan has a HC in waiting in Moore.

We are gonna win it all fellas…nothing motivated me more than a devastating pancake block where I got to do the OL player’s ultimate sign of disrespect..dragging your crotch over the defender’s face mask, like using his face for toilet paper. That is actually what the whole team has done these last 3 games without Jim. Can’t wait for the audio when Tony has to hand the championship trophy to Harbaugh with Jim audibly replying, “Kiss my a$$.” While raising the trophy to the cheers of thousands of Michigan faithfu.

I know it in my bones…this is the year.

Glad to be back and Go Bue baby!

The Win

I’m ready to coin it as such. I waited for a couple days to process things, but given everything that these kids have had to block out, and the chance that Ryan Day was the reason for all of it… I truly believe that this is the most important win in the history of the rivalry. I understand that 21 was important and 22 was possibly much more fun… but nothing compares to this one.

Crazy JJ throw and quote

This may look familiar:

Here's J.J.'s quote from today on the throw:

"I was just doing film study all week on No. 25, and whenever he turns his head, he doesn't look at the quarterback, so once I saw him put eyes on Roman, I knew he was only covering the width of his shoulders and I just let it rip."

The amount of not only physical talent, but also mental intelligence and preparation that goes into being a quarterback is unreal. J.J. studied No. 25 enough to know his head-turning tendencies. He literally threw this ball directly at No. 25, but had the confidence to do so based on what he watched on film.

As this play develops, he has to first see Roman open and the window to throw the ball into, identify No. 25, remember what he studied all week about his head-turning tendencies, and then he has to have the physical ability to thread the needle between the two players.

This is insane preparation and talent by J.J., and I promise you he knew the tendencies of every Ohio State DB — not just No. 25.

My respect for J.J. and all other quarterbacks grew tremendously today. What an incredibly tough task.
