Colts owner Jim Irsay found “unresponsive” in his home

due to a likely overdose. I feel bad for the guy man….for some guys they can’t resist the call of the meanest of mistresses…their drug of choice. I feel very fortunate that I was either born with it or Pops expressed to me strongly at a young age that your strength of will is critical to survival in this insane world. I‘ve always had an incredibly strong will that I absolutely needed growing up in 1970s Detroit being the weird kid that I was.

Ive fully admitted to a long history of extensive drug use that was due to me self-medicating, as over 60% of TBI sufferers are, even after their diagnosis and being prescribed the proper medication. I think it’s largely due to being normal on you way to serve in the battle against extremists in Fallujah and other cities, received a serious trauma head wound so severe in the prefrontal cortex of the frontal lobes, they often can’t deal with such a severe change and. succumb to the perils of drug addiction, because with a TBI, one of the signals is patients suddenly feeling so uncomfortable I their own skin that they are divenv ive always had the ability to never relapse once I made the decision to quote using a drug. The only one I have issues with still is cocaine, because that bitch of drug changes your brain chemistry to always want more of it. I haven‘t gone out and bought the drug, but if I’m at a social gathering and somebody cuts out a couple lines for me..I will do them even though it’s something I don’t want to do. Laid out in front of me, I can’t resist her…like that gorgeous but mean witch we have all met in our lives that enjoys sadistically teasing and manipulating you for her sick pleasure…and you let her do it because she’s a brunette gorgeous demon from hell that’s as close to an actual 10 with a black heart and a dead soul that can only get her kicks from torturing you. That, my friends, is Mistress Cocaine. Other than her, I’m all good.

I just feel awful for Irsay..yeah he’s a billionaire by inheritance and pretty much an a**hole, but nobody deserves to suffer the tortures of a lifetime of addiction issues that appear to have taken him to the very brink this time. I’m hoping he survives and finds the strength to change his life…starting by wiping his phone of all dealer numbers and those bad actors in his personal life. That’s a good place to start…cutting all the enablers out of your life. It’s harder than it sounds, when I quit drinking what..nearly 9 YEARS ago (wow!) and decided to go all the way by cutting bad influencers out of my life, it was painful because I lost a lot of longtime friends. But it was worth it in the end. Irsay needs to do the same.

I wish him a full recovery with must be his fourth attempt at cutting drugs out of his life. Don’t look down on him for relapsing again…it’s not about the number of times you failed..that sum total has no value towards another attempt. The only number that matters is maybe a person’s 8th attempt that finally sticks, and Irsay walks away feeling victorious, because when it comes to addiction, all the detox rehab stints and endless hours in class and group therapy, and the supposedly constructive exercises that are supposed to open the eyes of an addict when they do the exercise where you estimate how much money on drugs and alcohol that I tore up when my total quickly passed over 1 million before I even completed the first 1/3rd of the exercise. All that did was piss me off at my own stupidity and letting my guard down..allowing cocaine and other drugs to sneak through the cracks of my foundation. I didn’t really learn anything that was of any practical to use to me, especially all that “recognize you are powerless against (Insert your Drug of Choice) and must relinquish yourself to a higher supernatural (almost assuredly a creation of fiction) power to guide you towards redemption. I have a huge problem with everything in that sentence that references that as an addict you are powerless to change your situation. I don’t believe in having to pray to a god to stop yourself from buying a cheap fifth bourbon and a couple of grams of sh**ty “stepped on” blow. (For those who have no experience in the drug world, Stepped on = cocaine cut with another chemical to bulk up the quantity to sell and increase profit) I believe we all have incredible strength in all of us that gives us power to overcome any problem or obstacle in our way. The issue is most people don’t know how to access this inner strength or practice how to apply it successfully. AA and NA should change their negative reinforcement policy that many addicts believe..that they are too weak of character to help themselves and must give up their humanity to a god that never answers critical prayers and likely is just another figment of our imaginations…just like the 15,900+ gods that came before the inception of the monotheistic Abrahamic religions.

A last message to you all, and hopefully Jim Irsay finds a way to read this, because it really is the key to free yourself from oppression while positively reinforcing something critical in life..

There are no gods..
There are no devils..
Believe in yourself

Best wishes Mr. Irsay..I hope this is detox and recovery gifts you the enlightenment that you sir are stronger than addiction, forget what you’ve been told. There is no shame in this game..the only thing that matters is the epiphany that deep down..you don’t even like drugs. You only use to mask the pain. You’re a man in your senior years..every day is a school day..even in your latter years. Dedicate yourself to eliminating the one issue that has damaged you mentally, physically, and destroyed your reputation and credibility long ago. Day 1 starts when you emerge from your coma and has no end. Vigilance is just as important as inner strength.

May Baphomet grant you the wisdom you are searching for, and success at the end of your journey.

Video Good Afternoon, Michigan Football; January Jim & the succession plan

Jim Harbaugh is interviewing for NFL jobs. Does he want to really come back to Michigan or not? Former Wolverine Jim Scarcelli argues that Harbaugh wants to return to Michigan. If Harbaugh does leave for the NFL should Sherrone Moore be the automatic next head coach?

Insider On the Falcons interview...

Michigan is well aware of Jim Harbaugh's intentions to interview with the Falcons, I was tipped off this morning about him meeting with them but decided to wait and see how the Falcons presented it to share more. I also couldn't get second and third confirmations, which is usually how I present information I receive.

Yes, it is an interview.

There doesn't appear to be any type of panic in Ann Arbor. At least not right now.

"Love"

So Jim's friends have convinced thousands including many here to buy into a narrative that Warde Manuel is a villain because he doesn't show Jim enough love or (take your pick) can't get a contract done.

Yet Jim wants the university to commit unprecedented money to him, guarantee his employment no matter what comes of an investigation that isn't over AND delay the start of the contract until 2/15 so he can keep the lower 1.5 million dollar buyout in order to keep the door open to sign with an NFL team on the cheap buyout until then?

Ain't that somethin'.

Looks like love is a one way street as it pertains to this contract.

OR like Jim/his agents are asking for things they know the university can't/won't agree to so they can have more time to process his NFL options. Hmmmm.

And to be clear I don't have any problem with Jim delaying until he can see what the NFL offers or asking the world of the University including the absolutely unagreeable. That's his prerogative. But the vilification going on couldn't be any less justified IMO.

Mayo wants both Belichick sons to stay, Spurring the thought it’s time..give Jay Harbaugh the credit he has earned..

Jay Harbaugh has caught hell on this site and from the fanbase at large for being nothing more than the product of nepotism, and his work as the longest tenured assistant coach on Michigan’s staff has been wrongfully derided and dismissed to the point of being criminal. After reading what Mayo said about working with Bill’s oldest son when he was coaching LBs back in the day, praising his knowledge and how much he helped Mayo maximize his talent, I immediately thought of Jay and how he has been ignorantly vilified just because he was Jim’s son. This year Jay coached Special Teams and Safeties, and except for a few young players muffing a couple of punts against Bama, both Special Teams and Safety play was excellent..exemplary in the case of the play of the Safeties..all year. In fact, Jay has excelled everywhere he has been in his football coaching career..so let’s examine his record before I finish my point about Jay…

Oregon State: 2008 - 2011

Harbaugh spent four seasons as an undergraduate assistant at Oregon State under head coach Mike Riley, and when I looked back on what Riley said about Jay, he said he’d be a coach some day because he was a naturally cerebral savant when it came to the minutia of the game (sound familiar? The same thing has been said about his Dad), a great communicator, and the sky is the limit to his potential to ultimately become the next Harbaugh in line to be a HC.

Baltimore Ravens 2012 - 2014

Harbaugh spent three seasons working in Baltimore for the Ravens under his uncle John. In 2014, his work focused on statistical analysis, self-scouting reports and breakdowns of opposing defenses. This was invaluable experience most young coaches rarely have the chance to obtain, and I think the time he spent in the pro game greatly accelerated his development.

University of Michigan 2015 - Present

2015 - 2016 Tight Ends Coach and Assistant Special Teams Coach

2017 - 2020 Running Backs Coach and Special Teams Coach

2021 - Moved back to Tight Ends Coach and Special Teams Coach

2022 - Present Safeties Coach and Special Teams Coach

In 2021, Jay was named Special Teams Coordinator of the Year by FootballScoop.com

2023 - During his Dad’s 3 game suspension at the start of the season, Jay was the HC for half of the UNLV game with Mike Hart as HC for the other half..a 35-7 domination of UNLV that might as well have been 82-7. In starting as the HC for the 1st half, Jay officially earned his 1st win as a college head coach..and I’m certain it won’t be his last.

Additionally, Jay has developed into an excellent recruiter with his Dad’s ability to find the hidden and criminally overlooked players that have gone on to have great careers at Michigan. Perhaps Colston Loveland is his best example…a guy that Jay had to stand on a table and likely yelled at his Pops to offer a scholarship to this unknown monstrously talented TE that he was reluctant to do. 2 seasons in, Loveland is well on his way to becoming one of Michigan’s all-time great TEs. He’s Jake Butt, but with far more athletic ability, nearly WR speed, a natural pass catcher with great hands, and is evolving into a very good blocker as well. Loveland is on his way to being a mid to late 1st round NFL pick and will solidly be in the Top 50 players in the draft when he leaves.

Now, who can deny Jay had been good to great at every position he coached in his 9 years at Michigan? Who can deny he has become a sly effective recruiter, born with his Dad’s ability to spot a Football Player regardless of where he played and ignoring his rating assigned to him as a totally subjective and often wildly inaccurate Star Rating for players that should not be taken nearly as seriously as they are by fans, the media talking heads, and dumb coaches like Jimbo Fisher who base their player evaluations off the top 250 list..how did that record breaking recruiting class with what..9 5 star players?..work out for Ol’ Jimbo? These star evaluations are largely made by media members who suddenly became expert talent evaluators despite the fact that 90% of them never played a down of high level football (High School Varsity to College Football) in all the Tiers..

(I played in the old Div II and Div III tiers, and if any of you think that was like glorified high school ball, I suggest if you’re a young man and college eligible, try walking on to a lower Tier team and find out how friggin’ hard it is. Moving up from High School to Div. II was like a rookie finding out that everyone is a great player in the NFL.)

I’m sorry, but I’m a believer that Football is one of the few sports that is so complex that, unless you played a long time, it’s impossible for a layman, no matter how much they’ve read about the sport and all the years watching the game, it’s impossible for them to evaluate players when they don’t really understand what they are seeing..like the criticism of Donovan Edwards “Field Vision”…what a joke. Edwards was going through some real life personal struggles that had nothing to do with his Football skills, other than they were such a distraction they affected his mental state of preparedness to play this season. But when it was money time in the CFP, Edwards was totally locked in, and we saw the Donovan we were used to seeing. He didn’t just lose the ability to see the field…god how laughable that ridiculous belief is. I still have one last friend close to the program because he is rich AF to the point he has to look for things to either donate mucho dinero to their cause, or spend it on something worthwhile. It’s ironic because he is still soooo cheap from growing up poor, that I have to talk him into spending money…like I did when I talked him into buying a Cadillac “Blackwing”, a 120,000 dollar luxury car with over 700 factory horsepower that can be raised up to 1000 hp with a day’s work under the hood and on a laptop. It killed me to do it because I’m a GM hater..

(Except for Buicks..always liked them because they made their own engines that were torque monsters back in the day, and I fell in love with the Buick Grand National when it came out in the 80s because it was the fastest production car in the world when it was introduced with a 4.5 second 0-6O time..faster than any Ferrari or Porsche. One of my dream cars is the 1987 Buick GNX Grand National with that massive turbocharger upgrade. Someday I’ll own one I will find in some junkyard or auction after an insurance company totalled it. You know..”Roadkill” style.)

..but I hate American’s buying imports more, and will try to talk my friends out of buying them when the big 3 now make cars and SUVs that are just as good as any overpriced and expensive to service German import. He listened and absolutely loves it. But what he has no trouble throwing wads of his cash at is his Alma Mater, The University of Michigan, for the scholarship program for underprivileged students, and of course Michigan Athletics. Occasionally he will hear a nugget of info or, in the case of Donovan, he asked about him specifically because he’s a Doctor and noticed he just wasn’t himself this year. He was told it was non-football related and he was going through some shit. However, the Washington game signaled his rebirth. You watch, next year being HB1, I expect he’ll put up 1200-1400 rushing yards along with 400 receiving, finding the endzone with regularity. I promise, to quote Blake Corum, “The Don is back!”

Yeah, some 5 star guys are legit, but there are just as many guys who were labeled “5 star sure bets to play on Sundays“ that never achieved anything close to what was predicted from them, or were outright busts altogether. It’s like drafting in the 1st round in the NFL..the probability they’ll be a player is roughly a coin flip. And those are guys are the NFL professionals who have spent years honing their craft and they still get it wrong.

Taking that into consideration, I just don’t get how seriously people take the star evaluation system, when the guys doing the evaluations are largely journalists with little to no background in Football. Just because you travel all over the country to watch players doesn’t mean you understand what you’re seeing.

That’s why I hope Jay is smart and stays at Michigan if and when his Dad leaves for the pros. He’s a valuable part of the coaching and recruiting at Michigan, and it’s time for him to strike out on his own and finally put that “He’s only on the staff because of his Dad” false narrative to rest. Who knows? He may end up being the HC at Michigan in the future.

I‘m solidly on the “Hope Jay Stays” team… - Argus

Based on the part he emphasized, it is clearly Jim's side. Ie. no mention of the delay of buyout increase or any of the other stipulations regarding penalties, just mentions the single part that when taken on it's own seems totally reasonable. Come on Warde just focus on this one part...

It's pretty clear Wetzel is getting info from Michigan side to put out their story, (he was working Catapult too) and Bacon is working the Harbaugh side. Nothing wrong with it, but just what it is.

OT: Credit to Maize & Blue Crew

I just wanted to say, as a newbie, observing and interacting with this board for a few days now and also at one point being a paid member of both the "other sites," I find the team and people here quite refreshing. On one of the other sites, IMO, the head insider intentionally stirs up drama for clicks and touted for forever "a big NIL deal will be signed any day" for months (never happened), and the Harbaugh contract will be done any day (still hasn't happened)... and on the other, other site, the insiders are non-existent and barely interact with its paying members, which is kind of insulting to me. No offense to anyone who is a member there or disagrees, but I have had a decent amount of time to compare all three now and that is my true assessment.

I have found on here a lot of interaction—no drama stirring, and no click-baiting. So thanks, Josh and Trevor. I just wanted to share that because it's sort of sad to me that there's not enough credit for this being the best Michigan fan site. I encourage everyone who is a paid member here to work on getting people to join Rivals and support these guys, because in comparison to TOS(s), this is the place to be.

Josh, I will now take my Knights Steakhouse Dinner. I kid, I kid.

Video Hail to the Podcast: What and Who is Next for Michigan Football?

With the transfer portal and NFL declaration deadlines passed, Team 145 for Michigan Football is starting to take shape. Josh Henschke, Trevor McCue, and Brock Heilig break down JJ McCarthy's decision and the 2024 QB question. We'll go position by position: who's leaving and who's staying, and what other moves could Michigan make? And of course, what's the latest with Jim Harbaugh.

So we come to another ESD closing

Looks like a top 12-15 class.
Mr North Carolina QB
Mr Ohio RB
Future starting OL
Excellent future talent on defense
No cash hungry pain in the asses
Our coach is supposed to leave....lol
We lost a handful of commitments over the past year and you could argue replaced them with better ones who want to work.
Two good Rbs
Great TE
Two stud LBs
Excellent CBs
We also got a transfer stud LB and could get one to two other CBs through the portal
also waiting on a 4 star stud WR from Idaho.

Not a bad day for a team and program who doesn't have bag men or woman....yes I know negative Nancy's are out there. Fire away. Go ahead bloviate away. However this is a good day Michigan...
Oh forgot and we are going to kick Alabama in the nuts in 12 days. #Go Blue, #happy blue holidays

Edit

BTW we don't know if any of these kids will be starters, backups or washouts. The portal is littered with 4 and 5 stars that didn't work out and rosters are filled with starting 3 stars. So stars don't mean much.

Poster @WayneFontes, I wanted to address your question from the locked thread

It still begs the question, how is it possible they are at the zero hour and haven’t yet completed it? If the school really wanted this done, they’ve could have hammered it out weeks/months ago. where there is a will, there is a way.

I disagree. Vehemently in fact.

If it’s true that Coach wants results of the two NCAA investigations excluded from a for-cause termination, there’s a relatively clear and obvious problem with 1/2 of that…UM hasn’t yet received a Notice of Allegations on the sign stealing investigation. They have the NOA on burgergate so that seems pretty straight forward, but I don’t know how any UM fiduciary could be expected to agree to exclude the sign stealing investigation in the absence of the NCAA’s full findings. I’m guessing that’s the issue here.

Transfer portal QBs remaining

With the NCAA deeming that Taulia is out of eligibility, here is what is left over for QBs in the 1st round of portal entries. I would guess Michigan reaches out to McCloud and Rogers, otherwise they wait for the 2nd round of the portal window after spring ball. Taking a QB in the second round of the portal, gives them roughly 8 weeks to learn the new offense. Not ideal.

Jordan McCloud - James Madison, 1 year of eligibility remaining, possibly 2.

2023 stats: 281/412 (68.2%) 3657 yards, 35 TD, 10 INT

Jeff Sims - Nebraska, 1 year of eligibility remaining.

2023 stats: 28/47 (59.6%) 282 yards, 1 TD, 6 INT

Austin Smith - Eastern Michigan, 1 year of eligibility remaining.

2023 stats: 171/298 (57.4%) 1775 yards, 9 TD, 7 INT
