OT: F1 Qualifying at 11am, this is my Xmas morning

So excited for F1 season to kick off. Been consuming all of the testing and practice.

It looks like my McLaren team isn't ready to take the fight to Red Bull yet and is probably actually 4th in a tight battle with Mercedes and Ferrari.
Ferrari's race pace is encouraging, but they have shot themselves in the foot with strategy and reliability in recent years.

The entire field looks to have come closer together (except for Max lol) but the battle 2-14 or so should be really good.

It's Good News Wednesday! 2-28-24

So, spring training is just around the corner. It will be good to hear about actual football. Sherrone has done a great job keeping the team together amid staff chaos.

I teach Sunday School this week. Acts 8:4-40. I'm always apprehensive when it's my turn to teach, but I always learn so much in preparation. It always ends up being such a blessing.

We are splitting Acts between three guys. We started in January and will finish sometime in June. Each of us has eight Sundays.

Work is good, and the weather is gorgeous.

What's your good news?

Go Blue!

Texas is going to be good, BUT

They lost a lot from last season as well:

In the Draft:
  • Jonathon Brooks, RB
  • Byron Murphy II, DT
  • Ja’Tavion Sanders, TE
  • Ryan Watts, CB
  • Jordan Whittington, WR
  • Xavier Worthy, WR/PR
  • T'Vondre Sweat, DL
  • Jaylan Ford, LB
  • Christian Jones, OL
  • Keilan Robinson, RB
  • Adonai Mitchell, WR

Texas' losses are more "spotty" but when looking at the list, Ewers will have a new batch of receivers and RBs to break in. The five on the list are the top five pass catchers last season.

On D, Texas is losing their top 3 DTs- Trill Carter hit the portal at their top backup. Also, LB Ford was Texas' top tackler. These are positive signs for Michigan running the ball, especially so early in their season.

It will be interesting to say the least when the two teams match up.

Big 10 and SEC Leadership Holding Discussions About Leaving the NCAA (Per Flaccid Pete)

The dummy Pete Thamal buried the lead in his latest article, but here is the meat:

One high-ranking official involved in the discussions told ESPN on Wednesday that the presidents and chancellors in both the SEC and Big Ten are having conversations about whether to continue their NCAA membership. It's a move that would impact and could possibly derail the TV agreement.

"Those conversations are happening," the source said, adding some feel "pretty strongly about pulling away. I'd say very strongly."

Insider Intel: Could Michigan see a roster reinforcement?

There are some internet rumors going around last night and this morning about Michigan receiving some good news on a potential roster reinforcement.

Despite declaring for the draft on social media, the door is still open for Quinten Johnson to a possible return to the program.

According to a source familiar with the process, “conversations are being had” around an NIL deal which will allow him to return to the program.

I am asking around to see if anything concrete is out there but there is definitely smoke to it.

Stay tuned.
