Howard with a really nice interview

I really wish he was more open and let people understand him better.

Challenges a bunch of criticisms.

And his health was considerably worse than imagined.

Says he beat the drum for NIL help and was refused a general manager.

And apparently our facilities are horrible according to him (found that surprising).

Lockerrrooms are being upgraded.

Insider On Khani Rooths…

Dusty May was in watching IMG’s practice today in Indiana. Dude is all over the place.

I don’t think it’s an either or situation but I feel much better about Rooths getting back into the fold if the Akeem Miskdeen hire happens like I think it will. The two had a really good bond.

Again, Miskdeen hire isn’t just to get Rooths in the fold, he’s a good recruiter too. Boynton and him will put in the work and, if for whatever reason the hire doesn’t happen, I still think Rooths coming back to Michigan is a possibility.

Insider Intel: A potential new basketball assistant name

With Dusty May still looking to fill out his staff, a new name has emerged as a potential assistant coach on May's staff and it's an intriguing name as it has connections beyond just coaching.

Georgia basketball assistant Akeem Miskdeen was brought up from those I speak to today and, speaking to those in Georgia circles, it appears there could be mutual interest as well.

Why this could be an intriguing hire for the Wolverines is twofold, you're bringing up a talented assistant coach to help lead the program but you're also bringing in someone with recruiting ties with none more important than his connection with Khani Rooths, former U-M commit who is still on the market.

For those who might not be aware of Rooth's recruitment, he was very close to committing to the Bulldogs because of Miskdeen's presence before committing to the previous staff in Ann Arbor.

While U-M is still under consideration with May, Miskdeen's presence might be enough to reel Rooths back in, which would be a huge win for May.

The Bulldogs are still in the thick of the NIT right now so the hope that more clarity comes through once its tournament run is over.

More when I have it.

JMO...I think by far the biggest weapon....

...on offense this year will be Colston Loveland.

I will go as far to say he will reach 1000 receiving yds as the go to. At 6'5" 245 lbs he is has plenty of speed and can play TE...Slot...and outside. He has GREAT hands. A great vertical and is tough as nails.

I make these assumptions off not having a true outside big on the roster YET!

Love Tyler Morris...Semaj...etc but Loveland is just on another level.

Recruiting New FutureCast prediction 4/2

After doing some digging, I feel comfortable placing a FutureCast prediction in favor of Michigan for 2025 four-star offensive lineman Avery Gach.

The in-state Rivals150 prospect has been a target for the program for quite some time and the relationship has been expanded beyond Sherrone Moore, who ran point on this until Grant Newsome took over.

Newsome continues to do a great job and it should be enough to get this over the finish line whenever it happens.

Appears Eric Musselman is heading to USC, odd saga

Rumors were out there yesterday, and now we have the “primary target” tweet which usually means a few dotted I’s are all that remain.

For those who don’t know, this story got weird last week when the Arkansas AD account tweeted out a video pretty strongly implying Musselman was getting an extension or something to stay at Arkansas.

Well, when he was asked about it, he essentially said it was an edited video of a previous recording. Musselman was unaware the video was being posted. AD said he was just trying to shoot down rumors but obviously things could change.

Now I know Warde isn’t a popular figure, but talk about an AD with some grade A self sabotage.

This Michigan Baseball box score from yesterday is WILD

I saw an Eastern Michigan headline,
"Baseball outhits Wolverines in loss"
I thought that was weird as is, so I decided to look into it. Michigan beat Eastern 18-6, run ruled them.
Even better, Michigan scored 18 runs on 10 HITS!

Josaiah Stewart focused on becoming the best "on and off the field"

Josaiah Stewart was as good as it gets out of the portal for Michigan in 2023.
Now, with a bigger role on the field and a challenge to become a leader, Stewart is evolving with lessons learned from last season to become the best player he can be.
