Recruiting National still feels good about Phillip Wright...

"Four-star Destrehan (La.) High speedster WR Phillip Wright III is set to come off the board next week on July 13. The Louisiana pass-catcher will choose from Georgia, Michigan and LSU, and the Rivals FutureCast is already trending in favor of the Wolverines. Wright officially visited Michigan and then Georgia over the final two weekends of June after working out and unofficially visiting LSU earlier in the month.

Michigan has landed a pair of four-star commitments from The Boot in this 2025 cycle after signing four total from Louisiana in the Rivals era. Wright is another step closer to possible history in Ann Arbor."

Doesn't look promising for JaDon Blair, though, as it looks like Notre Dame for him.

OT Heavy heart today

Last evening our 11 year old King Charles Cavalier passed after battling congestive heart failure for a little over a year. He responded well to meds etc over the past year and was fairly stable with a few ups and downs until about a month ago when he developed a second valve leak (on the right side, the tri cuspid) and hypertension in the lungs. The fluid from the right side leak backed up into his abdomen. It took a few weeks while we were unaware of the new developments but he ended up in the ER and 1100-1200 ml of fluid were drained. Unfortunately the symptoms were similar to both arthritis, which he had in his back legs, and his existing left side valve leak, so we were unaware of the new problem. The draining and spending the night etc was really stressful and hard on him, and after he recovered and was on a new course of meds we decided no more extraordinary efforts (our focus had been on maintaining comfort all along). The drainage actually gave us a week of a somewhat renewed dog-not back to the old days of course but he acted more like our pup of old. We knew it wouldn’t last, the last 2-3 days he deteriorated. Luckily my husband was at his side when he passed and it was very peaceful. He was a much loved member of the family and gave us so much in return, and we are devastated, but also so relieved that he is no longer suffering. We will miss him terribly, our house is too quiet and we feel a void.

OT - Enjoy your 4th of July my Den Brothers & Sisters!!!

Have a safe 4th…

Celebrate responsibly because we need y’all back on the 5th raring to go…

Olympic Sports Rutger McGroarty trade rumors could impact Michigan

I posted an article a week or so ago about trade rumors with the Winnipeg Jets and Rutger McGroarty.

Reports suggested that McGroarty's camp and the Jets no longer communicated and that they would not be able to reach a deal.
When McGroarty elected to return to Ann Arbor instead of signing his deal with the Jets, I'm not sure people realized this was the issue.

So, with rumors that the Jets are looking to trade the rights to McGroarty, there is another layer to this rumor. If McGroarty is traded, depending on the team, he could sign that deal and instead head to the NHL and not return to Ann Arbor for the 2024-25 season. This would be a huge loss. We are not sure how likely a trade is. NHL insiders anticipated the trade would come ahead of the NHL Draft so they Jets could recoup a pick. With the draft passed and two years left for the Jets to sign McGroarty, there may not be an urgency to get a deal done.

We'll keep an eye on it.

Recruiting On Hardy Watts…

Taking my FutureCast off Michigan for now. Rivals is supposed to get his commitment live so there should be some level of knowledge before he drops. He has yet to inform anyone of his final decision yet.

Wisconsin has the buzz right now and it has been described that they wanted him “desperately” so we’ll see what happens here.

Too much buzz to ignore right now.

Recruiting Rivals Five-Star: DL analysis

"Williams had one of the most explosive first steps of any edge-rusher on hand at the Rivals Five-Star. At 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, Williams certainly passes the eye test and provides a physically gifted presence at a premium position."

Pre Season All American Lists

The Walter Camp list irks me for some reason picking T Williams from OSU first team over Graham is crazy to me. I am not saying he is a bad player but there always seems to be some slight when it comes to our players. Graham should be first team with Colston and Will. Looking at the 2nd team I see them Caleb Downs which is fine but D Burke is not 2nd team all American material. Perhaps I am wrong or just salty that they refuse to give us the full credit we deserve.
