This is a mentally and physically tough team. Of course it is first and foremost a product of Jim Harbugh. But Herbert is with these kids the entire year—cold February mornings to hot July afternoons—pushing them to new heights.
The strength and conditioning program develops muscles and a mindset. And Michigan reaped the rewards yesterday. A masterful job by Ben Herbert and staff!!!
For me it was mikes Poke out of the ball on the late drive they were trying to get back in it and that was possibly one of the best defensive pass break ups I’ve seen in a long time
They thought they were back in it and it held them off
I'm visiting Greer, SC for the holidays and stop by the Starbucks drive-thru to grab a coffee - a Buckeye fan pulls up behind me and I get this devious look in my face. I end up buying his coffee and the guy who works at Starbucks agrees to tell him "Happy Holidays from the state of Michigan". So so sweet! Go Blue!
During the aftermath of yesterday's incredible Michigan win, DB Cameron Calhoun, a former Cincinnati commit, announced his pledge to the Wolverines' class of 2023 (he was a gameday visitor for OSU for The Game, which made the timing quite ironic).
Yesterday justified Harbaugh’s QB call. We don’t win that game with Cade.
JJ made 5-6 throws and 5-6 more plays with his feet that Cade just doesn’t have the athletic tools to make. And those plays were necessary for us to win the game.
The pass doesn’t open up the run like it did with Cade, who would have been sacked multiple times yesterday and would not have even attempted some of the throws that JJ completed or threw accurately enough to draw pass interference calls.
This was the game that finally called on more than Cade would have had to give.
