..with clear skies on the 29th and overcast on the 30th. That is bike weather! Well, bike weather if you’re wearing thermal lined jeans, heated socks, and one of those new heat vests Pops wears when he goes golfing every week no matter how cold it was. So it appears that me and my cousins are gonna roll in with a crew to osu for 4 in a row!
To be honest, as my mother’s primary caregiver/interpreter/positive atmosphere provider, etc..I really need a few days on R and R..away from the constant stress and cut loose a little. No alcohol of course, but maybe some alchemy..we’ll see.
My ‘77 KZ1000..Goose’s bike from the 1st Mad Max movie that I just fell in love with as a 13 yr old, is now running pretty smoothly. The back of the bike is still cut apart as Jerry and I figure out the right angle to mount the mono shock and rear swing arm. Looks like to me the measurements say weld up the frame perch 5/8ths to 7/8ths back from where the seat meets the back of the gas tank. This will give the shock a more upright position in order to make it easier to set the absolute bear of a job mounting the shock to the swing arm in order to set the alignment perfectly. That is a job that will ruin your bike if you don’t spend days measuring, leveling, and doing the calculations to get it right the first time. If not, you’ll never get it in alignment as heat from the welder easily warps the frame even when you take your time. One shot to get it right. Think I’m gonna let Jerry handle that.
It appears that my 1 game this season will be The Game, but you never know. If not it’ll be USC.
P.S. - we had a 5.0 earthquake that was felt from New York, throughout New Jersey, hit the Southeastern part of Pa, and was felt as far south as Maryland. I was getting gas and felt the ground shake. Buildings in Philly swayed. Pretty trippy maaan!
