Insider Intel: Expectations of a Thursday decision by Tony Petitti

After speaking to some folks this morning, many inside Michigan circles are expecting a decision to come down from Tony Petitti on Thursday regarding a suspension for Jim Harbaugh.

Regardless of the recent bombardment in the news, the expectation from people I speak with is that he will try to levy some sort of suspension.

“The toothpaste is out of the tube at this point,” is how it was explained to me. Too late to go back.

Petitti ended up way over his head in this one.

Regardless, the university is ready and will act as soon as the decision comes down. The media bombardment will continue, too.

Either way, still expecting Harbaugh on the sidelines against Penn State.

Yahoo article shares the evidence and its a joke 😂😂😂😂😂

From the article

"The university says it has not seen any video evidence on which Petitti is basing allegations around and it questions four pieces of evidence that the league sent the school over the weekend. The four pieces of evidence include:

- records of Stalions’ tickets purchased and transfers,

- one unsolicited tip by an unidentified person claiming to have witnessed a person in Stalions' seat filming the sideline,

- a link to a public article that includes a “now-deleted” video of Stalions on the sideline of a Michigan game,

- a short video titled “UMass vs. PSU video” that “does not clearly show anything at all,” the letter says.

“From what we can tell, your email largely relies on rumor,” the letter says

Another legal angle

Just my opinion but...

....when all this is said a done...

There's going to be a lot of backpedaling by the media.

I still think either Tony P does nothing or he does 2 games max and the injunction stops him dead in his tracks.

ncaa finds very little and because ofthese minor infractions Michigan gets a fine and thats it.

Michigan throws a lot of mud and it sticks. It exposes a great deal more than anyone ever intended.

Helmet mics go in next thus ncaa looks really stupid if they did anything more than a fine.

One thing I'm not so sure about is what happens to osu ...ru...and ....purdue...if not more schools.

The fall out will range from disastrous for the B1G and to the ncaa to a story that disappears in less than 10 days.

What I am proud of is how Michigan's administration is 100% behind fight for the reputation of the university the program and Coach HARBAUGH.

My OPINION on what happens tomorrow…

Again, this isn’t based on any knowledge or inside info, Michigan is preparing for either outcome tomorrow and I don’t think I’m going out on a limb by saying that.

Duh.

Anyway, my OPINION is that Petitti is going to go ahead with a suspension. One or two games, in my OPINION.

As my source mentioned earlier in the day, the toothpaste is already out of the tube and you can’t put it back in. Petitti has got himself in too deep and there’s no going back on it now.

Now, what happens after that, Michigan tightens up the bootstraps and readies to fight.

Going to be a VERY interesting day, no doubt.

Quick Edit: I do very much expect Harbaugh to coach on Saturday, in my opinion.

I hope the team and coaches are less distracted than we are…

The number of posts and questions by all of us are occupying too much of our time. How many times per day are we each refreshing to see if Josh as any new intelligence. We all are attempting to adjudicate this on a message board. It is distracting to all of us.

it must be distracting to the team and the coaches. At the very least they will have to have worked on a backup plan if Coach Harbaugh is not there. The BIG has already done the bidding of the other teams and made a play against us. The mob mentality has won. I will be very happy and impressed if we hammer Penn St. I will not be surprised if we struggle.

I want out of this conference. I have seen enough weak kneed leadership from Petitti to know that the differences are now irreconcilable. I love the history of the Big Ten. I cannot stand the current state of affairs.

The next 48 hours will be fascinating…

There’s two sides to where I can see this going…

1. Petitti goes ahead with the suspension because he knows he’s in too deep and can’t go back. He has to go through with it.

2. The overwhelming pressure on Petitti folds him and he goes back on suspending Harbaugh.

Whatever happens, the next 48 hours is going to be incredibly fascinating. You could see either scenario play out.

What would you prefer?

Harbaugh to be suspended, get an injunction and information leaked out?

OR

Harbaugh doesn’t get suspended, the drips mostly stop and the Michigan muscle flex does its job.
