Football Analyzing the opposition: Alabama preview

The day has finally arrived.

It’s No. 1 Michigan vs. No. 4 Alabama in the Rose Bowl for the right to play for a National Championship.

Previewing the Crimson Tide, breaking down key matchups and making a prediction for this one:

Michigan age and experience will be the difference.

I tried to find stats on the oldest teams in college football for 2023 but couldn’t. 4/5 OL were in the 2019 class. We have an old team that is ready for this game. I wrote down our roster by class and it’s extremely experienced with 2018-2021 players. UM experience and time with Ben H carries the day to a Michigan win. 🏈. I’ll be there. Go Nlue!!

By the Numbers: Three keys to Michigan game plan

For the final By the Numbers piece of game week, we look at 3 key areas where a Michigan strength could be an advantage against an Alabama weakness.
Defending Milroe's arm and legs, and using non-WR to attack the Bama defense.

I know I said I was going Silent for the Win Monday, but Last Night…

After I watched the 76ers play an amazing game with Embiid, who missed his 3rd game due to a sprained ankle while he was averaging 40.7 points 11 rebounds 6.7 assists (that’s new) 2.5 blocks 1.5 steals and showing that he is the best player in the league while the 76ers are a fast fun team to watch that passes the ball in the half court offense and creates a ton of break away offense where Maxie is unstoppable. They are 3rd in the East, but I’d argue the East has the 3 best teams in the league..better than Denver..better than Minnesota.

After the game ended I figured I’d check in on Coach 3rd Base and how his team of consistent top 5 recruiting classes were doing against a middling SEC Mizzou team, who’s best attribute seems to be their HC has got jokes. There was 7 minutes left in the 4th with the score 7-3 Tigers, and I swear I haven’t laughed with such truly evil feelings of joy at watching OSU continue to rot from within like they had a stomach full of flesh eating worms. All that talent, all those big words about a new still of “ruthless” coaching in the B1G, all that hype about being an innovative offensive genius, and OSU scores a single field goal because their terribly mediocre Kirk Cousins clone QB decides Day is a lying, reprehensible, “Human being”..while their NFL ready WR Day underused all year decides to sit out as a business decision, and they can’t move the ball with all that elite talent? I don’t care if their backup QB never threw a pass in a game, there is a time where that doesn’t matter. Devise a way to move the ball. Put him under center, run the ball a lot, and then let him make easy play action completions. I’ve never coached football, my job was to run left or right and hit the first different jersey I saw as I came around the LT, RT, or TE. That’s all I know about offense because I did that on nearly every play 40-50 times a game. If we threw 10 times something was wrong. Despite that, I just came up with more adjustments than Day did with his top 5 talent and a month to prepare. I tell you..I laughed harder and longer than I have in years.

But what I was waiting for in the longest passage of each minute watching ESPN was Day’s post game interview ..it was worse than an embarrassment, it was the humiliation of being exposed. A process that started with Harbaugh’s vicious payback statement of the cruel truth with his “Born on 3rd base” psychological personality disorder diagnosis he made in a single sentence, and has progressed to Day’s sullen face and tired eyes..looking like a man who is defeated..who has quit because he has never had to fight against insurmountable odds, he never had to take 3 punches to deliver the one, he truly is the epitome of entitlement…and I DESPISE men like that. I’ve dealt with them often in my academic and later professional life..and just like Jim, I can tell who is a fake ass tough guy and who has fought for every inch of ground he has gained just by the look in his eyes. Right now, Day’s eyes are saying he has lost all that aggressive fake bravado and is at a loss as to what to do. His monotone, cliché filled statement about what is acceptable at Ohio State tasted like my teacher Chef Francois’ raw sugar crystal crème brûlée…sinfully delicious. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed someone else’s obvious mental anguish as much as I have watching Ryan Day’s ennui..he doesn’t have an ounce of fight in him and likely never has in his Just For Men ass. I really hope all this Catapult stuff leads directly back to him and his brother..especially after his angry accusatory denials. I wanna get a press pass for that press conference, because I’m certain he will finally crack into pieces and sob like a child who had his bike stolen on live TV. I promise you, the guy who would be laughing and so full of schadenfreude that I would be on the verge of choking from it backing up in my throat.

Sounds cruel right? Well, if I’ve had to wait a long time for an abusive prick to finally get receive karma’s justice served extra cold, topped with a roasted vanilla bean hand whipped crème of vengeance, It’s as satisfying as swinging for the way out of your league example of a Botticelli painting of female beauty. I mean the difference in satisfaction between the two is slight. Emotionally, my feelings are binary, it’s either 0 or 1. I warned girlfriends that love with me is like the deepest of Shakespearian loves…so intense it seems Quixotic. And when I hate someone, my response is always the blackest vilest of hatred’s..the kind of hatred an oppressed people develop over 1000 years of invasion, economic enslavement, many years of genocide, forced starvation by a manufactured famine..Im talking about the kind of hatred my Irish brothers reserve for the Anglo-Saxon Protestants..a hatred that becomes a regressive gene in your DNA. I develop that level of hatred for a man in minutes rather than centuries, A man who either betrayed me or got away with talking big and insulting me while I was unable to retaliate due to factors beyond my control. That would be Ryan Day, Mr. “I’ll Hang 100 on Them”. I had to put up with his obnoxiousness for a level of hate to develop that the bigger his fall will eventually be, because he’s far from hitting the bottom of the abyss…I’m just laughing at him losing his unsteady footing and falling off the edge …enjoying him realizing that the walls around him are getting smaller, enjoying watching him slip into a total loss of confidence where he does nothing to adjust to win the game with a team bursting at the seams with highly rated players that seem completely lost losing ”Meh” McCord at QB, with their Head Coach 3rd Base, frozen by fear and in a massive existential crisis of confidence..lacking the inner strength to rescue himself from being fired before he got on the team bus back to Columbus for losing to Michigan for the 4th year in a row in his worst effort..unable to stop Michigan’s rather huge dual threat QB Alex Orji from having a day of days, running for 117 yards and 3 TDs, while throwing for 280 yards and 3 more TDs before he was removed from the game with 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter. I’m tellin’ y’all, Daniels was just a running QB until he transferred to LSU. Jalen Hurts couldn’t complete a ball over the middle, and was one of the most erratic QBs in 2021. Spends 5 months on his footwork and throwing motion, then has an MVP caliber season, developing into a qb who can make every throw through NFL windows..then outplays Mahomes in the superbowl despite losing on a last second field goal. This year, Eagles aren’t as good but that has nothing to do with Hurts, who is having a great season on an 11-4 team. The coaches love Alex and don’t be surprised if he suddenly appears to be a dangerous dual threat Josh Allen type of QB next season.

Back to Day being a POS person, dudes, the last 3 years of beating OSU badly and Harbaugh tell the world who he really was, then watching him fall apart piece by piece because deep in his soul..he knows Jim nailed him, and did it with the cold callous mercilessness of a born killer, It’s been an amazing ride, the best streak of Michigan Football I can remember..this is better than any Michigan coach has done, including Bo. And when Michigan wins the CFP, of which another sign appeared today in the form of sweet irony striking like lightning on a clear day when Kirk Herbstriet said that Michigan is one of those teams that is so together on completing their mission, a team that is so player driven from all the controversy and hatred aimed at them, driven by being disrespected by the media and the college football world, who said they only won because of the sign stealing stupidity, that Michigan is so focused that they really don’t have to be coached. He said that Michigan is one of those rare teams that can collectively play out of their minds, and they are the most dangerous team in the CFP because they can just flip that anger switch that’ll instantly raise their play to another level. I was surprised to hear such logical and observationally detailed analysis from a Buckeye…but he nailed it. I’ve seen a very select few teams do that..that 2000 Ravens team that won the superbowl QBed by Trent Freakin Dilfer being one example. That’s a good comparison for this Michigan team, except JJ is a far better QB than Dilfer ever fantasized about being.

In a dark room in Columbus, Ryan Day is drinking cheap bourbon silently, not exactly confident he will have a job next week after losing to Michigan..again. Then looking like he was frozen in a panic attack, unable to adapt and overcome with a far superiorly talented team against a mediocre Mizzou team. And now, with the Catapult CRIMINAL subterfuge being blasted with the illumination of investigations and finally receiving serious media attention, Day is beginning to realize that his hubris and his brother’s stupidity in knowingly committing a federal crime, that is taken very seriously these days, and begins to frantically wrack his mediocre brain for a way to escape his fate..which is all but certain and determined. I’m here for all of his misery, it tastes like the sweet sweat on Aphrodite’s white as alabaster neck. The firing, The perp walk into court over Catapult. The look of shock followed by his eyes welling with tears when he is handed a punitive sentence with a real stretch of Federal prison time…I will enjoy every second of it..because the jerk has earned it.
