The annual charade is over.

Though grateful for Jim, I always felt he did a disservice to the university and the kids every January. Moving forward, it will be nice not to have to deal with that. As long as it’s not at the sacrifice of actually winning.

Who do you want to be the next head coach?

Though I get the desire for SM to take over, I would be greatly disappointed if one of the top five head coaching jobs in college football did not get a rightful national search.

I think Jim’s turnaround at Michigan came from hiring great coaches. I think he had more pull than the typical coach with that with all of his connections in the NFL and collegiately. My concern is moore does not have those same sort of connections. Running a NFL style defense set us apart from the pack. Mac and Minter were game changers.

I bet Moore can recruit. Whether he can hire the appropriate coaches and coach as well as Jim, well, time will tell. You only know, though, if you do a national search.

And minter is clearly going to follow Jim. But he’d be the best head coach here.

Let’s hope we continue to stay at the mountain top and not come crashing down now. Certainly not the ending to a natty we all wanted. But at least the annual drama is over.

Insider Intel: On Michigan's contract talks with Jim Harbaugh

Here we are again discussing Michigan and Jim Harbaugh's contract. I noted here in another thread that, at some point, we have to stop discussing the contract talks and redirect our efforts to the NFL because it's clear that's where Harbaugh's focus is right now with his second interview with the Chargers.

There's a stall in negotiations because the focus is not on the deal with Michigan, it's exploring his NFL options.

Either way, U-M is still trying to keep Harbaugh around.

I'd like to point out that money has never been the issue here. The financial part had been agreed upon a long time ago, there was always something new to pop up when it comes to the verbiage in his contract.

I am working on trying to figure out the finer details but I believe that some further concessions have been made, just exactly what those are, I am unsure of. All I have heard is that U-M has been "creative" to make it work, according to one source. What that creativity is, we'll ultimately find out if it gets across the finish line.

Either way, the discussion of making him the highest-paid coach in CFP and all that is only sweetening the pot, it won't be the ultimate difference-maker here, especially with his NFL desires that are abundantly clear.

Will continue to dig around to see what else I can find out.

It's Good News Wednesday. 1-24-24

Even with all the chaos around the basketball team and the head football coach, my good news is that we're still the National Champions.

Michigan sports will continue far beyond Jim, Juwan, and Warde. My advice is not to worry about what you can't control.

No one in their right mind wants Harbaugh to leave, but if Jim leaves, at least it will end the annual NFL mating dance each year.

My family is good. Our church is good, and our business is good.

What's your good news?

Go Blue!

Insider Where in the world is Harbaugh-San-Diego?

Credit if you get the reference, that was a big 90's thing. I'll explain if it went over the majority of your heads haha.

In regards to where Jim Harbaugh is today, he has yet to be spotted in Ann Arbor after asking a couple of people. With staff out recruiting and player lifts going on, everyone is everywhere so it doesn't mean he hasn't been there, just hasn't been spotted by anyone I speak to.

As of an hour ago, he is reportedly still in LA.
