Recruiting Intel: Michigan made significant strides with one 2025 prospect

Michigan hosted a handful of visitors over the weekend and looks to continue to positive momentum going after 2025 DE Nathaniel Marshall’s commitment.

I’m told the Wolverines made a major move for 2025 four-star LB Marco Jones out California.

While I don’t believe a commitment or anything of the sort is imminent, I was told that he is very high on U-M.

Gorney should have a full write up in the AM.

Jack Lange update?

Do we have an update on Jack Lange? I think he's going to announce this week based on another rivals site. Do we have any indication as to which way this will go?

@Josh Henschke @Trevor McCue

If I've missed the latest on this, throw something at me.

Last update I saw was this: https://michigan.forums.rivals.com/...-lange-lists-michigan-as-a-top-school.358065/

Recruiting Feeling very good...

About Michigan's chances with Rivals250 RB Marquise Davis, I feel he is trending Michigan's way right now. I am very close to putting in an official prediction but need a little more in order to feel comfortable doing it.

I would say this buzz has been building for quite some time. Tony Alford brought Michigan back from obscurity to get things to where it is today. I would say someone like Bo Jackson is trending more towards Ohio State, which has allowed Michigan to put in the work for Davis.

I can't say whether anything is imminent right now, I don't think it is, but if an announcement were to be made today hypothetically, Michigan's chances here are very, very good.

Recruiting Hearing more good bball news could be on the way...

If I were you, I'd be prepared for more good news, as I would keep a close watch on 2024 SG Lorenzo Cason. Hearing he is close to a decision. Feel good about Michigan's chances here.

Recently visited campus and Dusty May has been very open about Cason joining him in Ann Arbor.

Insider New transfer portal prediction (basketball)

I know there is a thread on it already but I wanted to place an official transfer portal prediction for the Michigan basketball program as Dusty May is working quickly to fill out his roster.

After doing some digging, I am placing my prediction for Michigan to land Ohio State shooting guard Roddy Gayle.

He was on campus this weekend and it shouldn't be too long until official word comes out.

Basketball roster is moving at light speed

My best guess at the 2024-25 projected Men's basketball roster (projections are in parentheses).
Backcourt-
Freshman- "Fat Fat" Brooks, 6'1', 190-PG
Freshman- Justin Pippen, 6'3", 180-SG
Sophomore- George Washington III, 6'3" 185- SG
Junior- Roddy Gayle, 6'4", 210- SG
Junior- Tre Donaldson, 6'2", 200- PG/SG
(Junior-Aidan Mahaney, 6'3", 180- PG/SG)
Grad- Nimari Burnett, 6'4", 200- SG/SF
Grad- Rubin Jones, 6'5", 190- SG/SF

The talent is nicely spread out- Good depth

Interesting note on the backcourt: Not one G under 6'.

Frontcourt-
Sophomore- Sam Walters, 6'10", 200- PF/SF
Junior- Will Tschetter, 6'8", 245- PF
Junior- Danny Wolf, 7', 255- PF/C
(Grad- Vlad Goldin, 7'1", 240)

Swings-
(Freshman- Khani Rooths, 6'7", 200 SF)
(Senior- Terrance Williams, 6'7", 225 SF)

That's 14.

I really have no idea about who they are looking at for the SF position, but my best guess is that Rooths rejoins the 2024 class and that Williams returns from the portal. I see Jones/Burnett playing some minutes at the 3 as well...But I'm sure that the space between bigs and guards will be addressed.

Also, Dakota Guerrant, possibly the top 20276 in Michigan, is a cousin of Michigan signeed Jacob Oden.

Sabb and Guerrant are Michigan caliber.

Marquis Ray, DeOndre Hill and Jimmy Kalis could be, depending on future development.

Too early to say on the others. They all have question marks and most will probably not be Michigan caliber.

Football End of Spring Depth Chart

With spring practices coming to a close, it is time for the best-guess unofficial depth chart.
Based on intel gathered through spring, comments from coaches and players, and obviously some of what we saw in the spring game.

Recruiting New FutureCast prediction 4/22

After doing some digging, I feel confident to place a FutureCast prediction in favor of Michigan for Rivals100 DE Nathanial Marshall.

Michigan was a strong contender heading into the visit, the development of the defensive line had always stood out to him.

A quote from him in August of ‘23 when I asked whether Michigan will be a factor for him when they offered: “It’s a program with great tradition so continuing to grow/build the relationship with them and see what happens down the line and yea you never know 〽️”

The visit was knocked out of the park, obviously.

Would not be surprised if this one goes public soon but I do not have any specifics.
