Transfer Portal Question

With the large amount of players that Michigan will need to be competitive next year, it surprises me that we aren't hearing about far more players being in communication with Michigan. Especially since we are out of the playoff and have all the time to attach the portal. Is Michigan slow playing?

Appreciate the positive vibes/good thoughts about Franklin…

Just wanted to leave a quick note of thanks for all the positive thoughts and well wishes for Franklin.

They’re just finishing up his surgery now and he’ll be on track to go home this evening.

Been a taxing day for me as I dropped him off at 8 am this morning, so I apologize for being sparse here.

It’s definitely a relief as I have been stressing about this for days.

All-Time CFP Rankings

ESPN has an article ranking all 52 teams in the history of the College Football Playoffs. Couple of noteworthy rankings:

- 2015 MSU is the lowest ranked team from the 4-team Playoff era (#49) 😂

- 2021 UM is ranked #35 (Ahead of last year's Bama team and right behind this year's UT team)

- 2022 UM is ranked #22 (Ten spots ahead of 2022 TCU)

- 2023 UM is ranked #4!!! (Behind only 2022 UGA, 2019 LSU, and 2020 Bama)

Football On Keeshawn Silver…

Saw the report that Michigan is one of the finalists for Kentucky DL Keeshawn Silver. Florida, Miami and USC also finalists.

I’ll be honest, this one wasn’t on my radar so I am asking around. Haven’t heard anything noteworthy back yet.

That’s not to say that shows what Michigan’s chances are, more so things are moving even if there’s nothing public going on.

Silver is a former five-star recruit.

EDIT: Did some asking around, definitely think Michigan is more than just a placeholder on a top schools list.

Definitely worth keeping an eye on at the very least

A mind-boggling stat on Graham and the '22 recruiting class

Never lost to MSU or OSU. Hasn't happened over a three-year stretch since 1947-49, and even that group tied Ohio State in '49. You have to go back to 1946-48 for the last time Michigan was a perfect 6-0 against the Spartans and Buckeyes over a three-year stretch. Kenneth Grant, Will Johnson and Colston Loveland will all likely join him as Michigan football legends.

Quick thought on the portal

This is going to be insane. No name entering the portal or coming to Michigan via the portal should surprise you. This is the first year of so many things changing the landscape, and with the 105 roster limit rule there will be some surprises. This roster will likely look very different next year. A player that enters the portal can come back too. Just remember you are only working with part of the information because we don't know that player's next move or Michigan's next move. Need to let this all play out.
