I'm pretty sick of the whole thing.

I have often stated that I just want it to be over, but it never seems to be over.

Going against the NCAA has proven to be a losing effort.

First, there was too much practice time under Rich Rod. Result? We lost.

Next, it was Harbaugh vs the NCAA/SEC over summer camps. Result? We lost.

Hamburger-gate. Not only did we lose, but our own administration suspended Harbaugh. Result? They won.

Sign-gate. Our conference suspended Harbaugh. To me, this was one of the most egregious things ever. I firmly believe that Sign-gate was within the letter of the law of the rules, and zero penalties should have come from it. This media-driven episode ended up with us being penalized for something that everyone does. It was a travesty for sure, but the result is we lost.

For most of these events, we read about the high-priced Michigan lawyers, the coming injunctions, and even Attorney Tom Mars getting involved. For all of it, have we had one win? It doesn't feel like it.

Over a three-year span, we will have had our head coach suspended for a total of EIGHT games. For What? A hamburger and a practice everyone does.

I just want it to be over.

Clarification on Show Cause

I saw Urban was on Triple Option yesterday. I generally actually like his analysis and takes, but he was on about how a Show Cause means that you can't coach. (Link)(I know the media says that, but I have also heard that it makes it harder to get hired and now you must face punishments depending on the terms of it if you are hired during that period. I also remember reading that it doesn't affect you at your current job.

Anyone know what the truth actually is? As usual, with the NCAA it is clear as mud...

Also I would be remiss if I didn't post our very own's @Trevor McCue's great dunk from last night

OT NBA Playoffs

Cleveland without Garland, Mobley, and Hunter. If they go down 2-0 then have to head over to Indiana... geez. Ty Jerome is nice to fill in at the 1 for Garland and I suppose you've got Okoro and Strus providing depth at the 3 for Hunter, but Mobley is a massive miss. Dean Wade and Tristan Thompson are not NBA-playoffs level big-men. Pacers surely just utilize the pick & roll action against Allen to draw him out of the paint and leave the dunkers spot wide open or corners open depending on how the ball swings around the court. Kenny Atkinson is a good coach (obviously, considering he just won COTY), but this game will surely be a serious challenge for him.

Massive game for Donovan Mitchell - can prove himself as the kind of player who can truly lead his team to a chip as a No. 1 scorer.

I would've had the Cavs beating the Pacers as the closest thing to a lock of all the conference semi-finals series to be honest.

NCAA Settlement hangs in the balance

The NCAA in true NCAA fashion are daring the judge in the House settlement case to throw out the agreement and once again install chaos and make the NCAA less viable than it has ever been.
The judge made it clear that protections needed to exist for players impacted by new roster limits, that they should be grandfathered in or the limits should have a phase in.

Well, the best the NCAA could do is ALLOW schools to grandfather in players but not REQUIRE. We could be heading to schools paying players where the only guidance is from their state legislature.

Recruiting INTEL: On 2026 DB Jordan Deck

Spoke with 2026 S Jordan Deck (Frisco, TX) tonight about Michigan and where his recruitment stands.

He took his first visit to Ann Arbor in the middle last month and enjoyed every aspect of it. Deck is big on having a chance to play early and loved the fact that the Wolverines were mixing in some of the true freshmen in with some of the 1’s to throw them into the fire and get them experience early in spring practice.

Michigan, Penn State and Baylor are his top 3 schools, but the Wolverines have the edge going into those official visits.

He also told me he loves how genuine/real coach Lamar Morgan is and that he loves how Morgan teaches his position group and breaks down the details to his players when they make a mistake.

I know Aidan reported Deck as a recruit to watch in terms of a commitment, and if things stay on their current trajectory, it would be easy to envision Deck in Ann Arbor.

Would be a nice versatile piece in the back end for the Wolverines to add.

Use your own criteria of what "beloved/iconic" means, but The Q is more than just "who was best?"

Had this debate yesterday and the answers varied greatly.

Threw in a few longshots at the end, but it's likely a battle of the first 5.

BTW...I say Yzerman. I don't think his GM failures taint his legacy as a player. Played his whole career in D. Got there when they were bad. Left with 3 cups and the most iconic goal in franchise history.

Have at it.

Want to hear a pin drop?

Michigan tells BIGTEN /NCAA in June, we are canceling all games this year. You all wanted blood in the water, here you go.
Let teams scramble to find an opponent from the vacated game that day. Or just go out and take the frustration
of all this crap being piled on this football program go 12-0. Then just win the whole damn thing!

Recruiting INTEL: Recruiting Implications of Sherrone Moore's Suspension

I've spoken to a lot of recruits and coaches today, none of whom expressed any concern around Sherrone Moore's suspension for the Western Michigan and Nebraska games. Many of them thought that the program has been unfairly treated by the NCAA and offered support.

We know there'll be negative recruiting from rival schools, though, so we'll see how that pans out. It clearly had a big impact on Andrew Olesh last cycle...

Sorry for the absence, we had to say bye to our amazing dog Mowgli

0DB04938-226D-4815-A2F5-84DCA34E0EC2.jpeg
The best thing about dogs is their unconditional love. Everyone with a dog thinks they have the best dog in the world. Dogs transcend the barrier of pets and become friends and family members.
Mowgli lived 15 amazing years, and it was simply time. He was tired. He fought so hard to be here for us. Losing him hurts something fierce, but I'm also relieved he's no longer in pain. He's not struggling.

When I started dating my wife 15 years ago, she came with a puppy. He was only a couple of months old, but their bond was incredible. I had never seen anything like it. In a short time, he and I also had that bond. I wish I could share all the amazing things he used to do, but every time I think of one, I think of another. But he went everywhere with us. If we were driving somewhere to run errands and one of us could stay in the car, Mowgli came. At a friend's or a family member's house, Mowgli came. Unless he wasn't welcome, but anyone who knew Mowgli said he was always invited.

Mowgli could read you like a book if you were sad, angry, sick, whatever. He knew, and he was there for you. Before our son was born, my wife had some complications with pregnancy, and while I never had the perfect words, in his way, Mowgli did. He saved her life. When we did have our son we swore we weren't going to be the parents that gave all our attention to the baby, our dog would still get his love. We tried, but reality was a different thing. Mowgli did what he always did, adjusted, and was there for us how we needed him to be.

When my son was born, he was almost 8, and the super playful dog was now more of an old man who just wanted to relax. Relatable. The timing was just never right with those two. Our son was young and full of energy and wanted to play, and Mowgli did not. A few years earlier, and I think they would have been the best of friends. While Mowgli probably resented him a bit and was annoyed at times, he always protected him. He was always the first one in the bedroom after a nap to make sure he was okay. And when our son was sad or sick, Mowgli was there, just like he had been for us.

IMG_2739.jpeg
Fifteen amazing years and it's still not enough. I didn't deserve him. I feel guilty, as expected. I feel like we didn't do enough to show him how loved he was, but then I realize there is nothing I could do that equals how much I love that dog. I feel relief, because I know he isn't hurting anymore. I feel self-pity, loneliness, and all the things you think when you lose someone. These are the worst days, but the trade-off for those 15 years is worth it. That is why we signed up for it. We got it all and more with Mowgli. Everything in my life is better because he was in it.

Everyone with a dog thinks they have the best dog in the world. But I'll tell you what, I think we really did.

Ok...new thread about Nebraska

.....they went 7-6 last year. Started the year with 3 cream puffs at home. Yes colorado was a cream puff!

They went 3-6 in the B1G with ZERO signature wins. Yes they played osu tough but everything that could go wrong for osu in that game did.

Their 4 big wins were doing mats in Purdue....Wisky....Rutgers...and big bowl win over BC.

So why all the angst or a .500 team. Yes they played us tough at home in 2021 but a lot went wrong in that game to even be that close. No different than osu in 2024.

Yes we are starting a Fr. QB like they did last year but their QB has not seen the likes of Winks D.

We will pound the rock as usual. If you remember the last time we were their they had the #1 rush D in the country and we rushed for over 200yds against them

Chillax people we will be 4-0 when Sherrone returns! So put chicken little back in the box!

So its no secret, I'm not a Shedeur erst sanders fan nor his fathers...

..... and I never thought he was remotely a first round, pick by anyone. However, if people would have stayed objective and not jumped on the Prime hype wagon, even for Prime's son, people would have seen him as a third or later round pick.

The media circus around Dione sanders created something that the NFL coaches and GMs saw right through. They saw an average low ceiling QB who might develop into a starter in a few years at best and more than likely a journeyman backup.
