2:00 p.m. Update:

Tom Gamble is leaving his role at Michigan, which opens up Bowden for that role. I am told that him and Sherrone are “still talking”

As it’s been hinted in a thread on our boards, Sherrone Moore is looking to beef up the off-field staff and is looking to make a splash in the process.

We have confirmed through multiple sources that Moore has called Notre Dame’s Chad Bowden to discuss a role on the staff.

While Bowden is a very good recruiter himself he might not necessarily lead the recruiting efforts but could take on an all-encompassing role of Director of Player Personnel or something similar.

Bowden will be a tough pull out of South Bend and Moore will have to give him a pretty good offer. Bowden and Freeman are tied at the hip, Bowden swears by him. He followed him from Cinci and the two are close. So it’s not as easy as just offering.

I’m paying close attention to this and if anything comes from it, I will let you all know.

Actually you can call it a comeback if you want haha. After a few years away I'm back on the board. Josh and the team's coverage throughout this season and of the recent coaching change has been really impressive and was enough to bring me back to the board. I'll probably be less active than I was the first time around but I'm happy to be back.

Regardless, this situation seems pretty rare.
