It's Good News Wednesday! 11-13-24

My good news is we have a bye week. Nuff said.

I'm going to Arkansas this weekend for the Arkansas-Texas game. I'm gonna spend a little time with my buddy that I ride with and meet up with another classmate from high school.

I'm trying to kick-start my Christmas shopping to get ahead of things this year.

Work is going well

What's your good news?

Go Blue!

Technical Feedback on the board

I haven't seen this discussed and maybe there's something i'm missing, but when logging in from the message board whether on my phone or computer, it takes me to the rivals main page and then i need to navigate back to where I was logging in from. I think that's really poor design and annoying. Could you pass this on to your technical team?

Thanks!!

Recruiting Not that it matters HOWEVER...

I have placed my FutureCast selection in favor of Michigan for five-star LB Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng. I say it doesn't matter because Sam Spiegelman dropped the bomb last night and I am just confirming what he has said, we continue to hear good things separately from sources.

Recruiting Asked around about Elijah Dotson...

Doesn't seem to be real concern that it won't get done right now. Things are still being worked on and things continue to be moving in the right direction.

For those linking it to Underwood, you would like to see it be done by now but sometimes in recruiting things just don't work on a simple timeline. Underwood is going to do what he's going to do regardless of what happens with Dotson.

Like this entire situation, just have to sit back and let it play out.

Not ringing any alarm bells with Dotson right now.

Recruiting A big picture look at the Bryce Underwood situation post-LSU visit

Nothing exactly new here but kind of giving my perspective and reset of everything 36 hours or so after the LSU visit wrapped up.

They sent out Mullings to the media

He gave this comment:

On why he got one carry in the first half: He said he wasn’t hurt and got no explanation for it.

The operation we have is a flawed one. I think that needs to be fixed.

That's all we can judge at this point is the acumen.

Doesn't appear to be a great operation right now.

Gotta communicate with these players. Otherwise you send them to talk to the media and you get more confusion.

Recruiting Interesting note on Passes and Bryce Underwood...

I was just talking to folks about the Passes partnership, seems to be a lot of excitement about the partnership as the program looks to make more in-house moves when it comes to NIL.

On top of paying Learfield for the rights, the company also made a sizeable donation to the Bryce Underwood fund to keep him home. That money will be used elsewhere if it doesn't work out, obviously.

Working on a big picture Underwood piece that will be out shortly.

Our third and goal play post interception.

Was Alex Orji, in an empty set, running left.

The play seemed to require (unless Hinton blew his assignment which doesn't seem likely) O'Leary to block their defensive end.

Shocking that it didn't work out.

A possibility of 17-10 with all the momentum on both sides becomes 17-6.

The red zone offense has been negligent to say the least.

Is Michigan's slow move into the NIL era the issue with Moore?

In a recent interview Moore said that NIL takes up to 50% of his day I believe. Does anyone else think that this could be the number 1 cause of why it seems like his coaching focus is not the same this year? Don't get me wrong biggest issue continues to be Offensive game plan and play calling above all else and that leads to things like clock management and other things getting amplified attention, if the team was good most fans would look past little errors most the time. But with Michigan basically trying to play catch up in the NIL game with other top schools it has taken a lot more focus from the staff especially Coach Moore I would think. I would hope that once all these new things are more of the "norm" for our program that it would allow focus to be put back on the current team. I will say I am ok sacrificing today if it means tomorrow has us in a lot better and more consistent situation with recruiting, portal, roster talent, etc.

Bryce Underwood

Well, Bryce Underwood had his visit to LSU, his fellow LSU WR commit visited Michigan, so did his HS classmate and Michigan announced progress with its NIL program.

It's a bye week and the Michigan coaches have time to meet BU, specifically Moore/Campbell.

Feels like its decision time.

I can't imagine there's much else of significance between now and signing day that BU needs to wait and see now. All the cards are on the table from both sides.

The transfer portal substantially reduces the risk of this decision as compared to earlier years.

Decision time.
