Aden Holloway

Spoke to multiple people, so this is somewhat a mixed bag of reports / opinions.

Regarding Aden Holloway, I can’t confirm if Dusty himself contacted him yesterday. With how Dusty has been working the portal, I’d bet on, yes he did. But obviously can’t confirm that.

Rewinding back to his high school recruitment, there was much interest from the Holloway’s in Michigan, considering his mom is an alum. During the recruitment, Juwan focused more on Jeremy Fears, the teammate of Holloway and now player for MSU. This created a sense of resentment towards Michigan, but the person I directly spoke to said it was more so Juwan, as he represented Michigan. To confirm that note, his sister committed to Michigan for basketball, so the holloways still hold Michigan the institution in high regard.

Now where it gets interesting, I was told that Aden’s mom would love Aden to be with his sister at Michigan (what mom wouldn’t, duh). BUT, if Juwan was still at Michigan, this would not be an option for the Holloways, call them stubborn, but I do understand the animosity in being put on the back burner for a teammate you think you’re better than.

Direct Quote: “Now that Dusty is there, Michigan is certainly a player for Aden again.”

I do get the sense Aden will not transfer somewhere to come off the bench, so unless Dusty plans on playing Aden and Johnell Davis at the same time, I’m not entirely sure the seriousness of this situation. But it is worth noting they’re interested in Michigan again.

Insider On a staffer issue…

The current word is that a Michigan staffer (off-field) is currently in trouble. Harbaugh hire and won’t impact the current team in terms of practicing for spring.

It sounds very similar to recent events and I won’t say more than that as I am making calls trying to get some sort of confirmation.

Please don’t speculate in the comments either, it’s unfair to throw names around of those who have done nothing wrong.

I don’t expect it to take too much longer for the name to come out in an official capacity.

Just a general thing with the football program

After the debacle of no one knowing anything about the sign garbage and the moron stallions, I thought the program needed to get everyone on the same page and get rid of any moles.

Now with these new incidents, they really need to have a meeting with the entire staff and get this l stuff figured out. There doesn't need to be a no drinking policy as that would be unrealistic. There has to be some type of new policy instituted to get this crap to stop. What that involves, don't ask me, ask the guys running the program. Travel with buddies or have a person holding your hand.

People liked to rag on Harbaugh for all the "incidents", but we haven't even made it to the Spring Game and will be firing another employee for drunk driving.

This is all pretty stupid at this point and we are lucky neither guy killed anyone.

Football Biggest needs in the spring transfer portal window

The spring transfer portal window opens when the clock strikes midnight on Monday.
Michigan Football has had a chance to evaluate its roster this spring and could look to the portal to address some depth chart needs.

Insider Intel: On Michigan’s pursuit of Oakland’s Trey Townsend

Oakland star Trey Townsend has hit the portal looking to capitalize on his newfound buzz for his final season of eligibility.

Many schools are looking into Townsend but he plans to visit Michigan on Sunday.

Townsend has plenty of suitors and it would not be shocking to see MSU get a visit at some point. UCLA and Arizona are also pushing hard, Arizona is VERY aggressive with their approach.

According to a source, it would come as a surprise if Townsend were to leave the state and the Wolverines certainly have a shot if Dusty May decides to push hard.

They have to understand that Townsend is making a business decision, not a school decision. He’s looking for the best place to develop his career and to make a jump to the pros. This isn’t to say he’s not a bad teammate, he’s looking to cash in on the opportunity he has right now and, honestly, who can blame him?

I’ll see what I can find out after the weekend but Townsend’s name is a new one in a long list of names May is after.

Recruiting Initial returns on four-star LB Elijah Melendez's visit to Michigan

"I love it here"

That's the initial response we received from Elijah Melendez as he made a multi-day trip to Ann Arbor this weekend. Brian Jean-Mary's addition was going to be an asset here but his second trip to Michigan has really cemented the fact that the Wolverines will absolutely be a factor in this recruitment.

On top of that, he will be making an official visit to Michigan on June 7 as well.

Melendez's visit just wrapped up and we're not in the business of stalking these kids so we will let him enjoy the rest of the night and plan to speak to him more on the trip tomorrow/early this week.

Hopefully….

…well have a great turnout for our Spring Game, the first a appearance of our National Champs in the Big House.

Ohio State had 80,012 attending their Spring Game, their biggest crowd in 7 years.. They had a full band show, the whole five yards. The recruits who were in attendance had to be impressed by the fan support.

Hopefully we can match them.

OSU recruiting

I dont know why, but it pisses me off that all these studs sign up with that shithole school in Columbus….when the national champions are a couple hundred miles north and a thousand miles better of an education. What am I missing besides the money bag?

OT: Any CPAs on this board?

My apologies for the off topic post, but where else would I go for tax advice? Ha ha! Quick tax question.

I have a second home that I have been using as a rental for years. I bought it for $30k in 1999. I believe we could sell it for $350k or so. Obviously if I sold it I would be dealing with a significant capital gain. My question is this....... I have significant carryover capital losses from when the tech bubble burst years ago. Would I be able to offset my large capital gain from the sale of this house with my capital losses so I end up paying no capital gains? Or is that not how it works? Any help is appreciated.
