It's Good News Wednesday! 9-4-24

My good news is that we are 1-0, and it's a BIG GAME week! I expect us to play better than last week, and I'm excited.

We had our 44th wedding anniversary this past week. We had a great dinner and took time to reflect on all the blessings we have had in our lives. It was too many to count.

I'm excited about the Texas game!

We are heading to Disney for a family day this Sunday. Honestly, I couldn't care less about going to Disney, but my family loves it. I love and enjoy time with them, so I also go to Disney.

Life is good, and the Fall season ahead looks busy.

What's your good news?

Go Blue!

After a Re-Watch…

Few things I took away from a re-watch today:

1. We had two separate drives stall out on some very easy to fix stuff, which could have easily added numbers to the scoreboard. They were driving pretty well when Dono had a nice run get their 3rd-4th first down of the drive, which was taken back on a questionable holding. Couldn’t battle back from 2nd and 17.

Given the momentum they had going, could have easily wound up in at least a FG attempt.

Then there was the Loveland drop on 3rd down that would have been a first down. Again a situation where we were sustaining a drive and building momentum. If I recall, we did get a FG out of it though.

Fully realizing that execution is absolutely part of the evaluation, and these are examples of bad execution. However, I find it to be encouraging and maybe some evidence of some underlying potential within the offense.

2. Warren threw the ball better than I thought. Missed on the deep balls and had a few errant throws in the 2nd half, but the other throws were pretty well placed. Much has been said about the struggles with making the right reads, and a great example is the deep ball to Semaj with about 10 min left in the 3rd. Threw into double coverage when he had an intermediate route wide open underneath.

3. I think this team is going to make significant strides this season. Perhaps wishful thinking, but the potential is definitely there.

Football Four-star 2026 CB Dominic Turnbull can envision himself in U-M's system

Four-star 2026 CB Dominic Turnbull was at Michigan for the team's season opener against Fresno State this past weekend.

Turnbull details why he could see himself fitting right in with Wink Martindale's defense, along with why the Wolverines are one of his top schools in his recruitment:

Basketball More preseason buzz…

On true freshman guard LJ Cason. Dusty May spoke very highly of him in our last media day availability and that continues.

No clue what his role will be this year but he’s been getting a lot of buzz since his arrival. The staff think he’s going to be a guy at some point.

Someone close to the program: “You’re going to love No. 2. Like LOVE.”

Will get some more practice intel to provide very soon.

This board is more delusional than I thought...

First of all, how is everyone not on cloud 9 and stress free this year. Last year was worth being 7-5 this year (not saying we will be, but would have taken that offer in a nano-second). Nothing can take away being Sole National Champs. Buys at least a few years of complete ecstasy.

We lost our HC, our stud QB and RB, our entire line to the NFL. The line should easily be 10+, the only reason it isn't is because of how many delusional fans will bet Michigan and the only objective of the line is to get equal betting on both sides. Losing by 17 is more likely than us winning.

Our only goal this year should be to build for the next few years and see if Sherone can lead this team into the future. Anyone who thinks we have a contending team is just crazy.

Be happy, be elated and just enjoy this year as a fan.
