Recruiting New FutureCast prediction 11/15

After doing some digging, I feel comfortable enough to place a new FutureCast prediction in favor of Michigan for 2023 OL Nathan Efobi.

Efobi is announcing his commitment on Friday and I am fully expecting the Wolverines to be the choice here. He had a very positive visit to Ann Arbor back in September that vaulted the Wolverines up his leaderboard. Since then, I don't think they really left his top spot.

My pick is in and I am expecting good news.

Football By the Numbers: Dissecting Michigan's Passing Woes the Last Three Weeks

The board asks, we deliver.
Shout out to @GoBlueRW for the idea!

We expected the passing game to make a jump heading into MSU, but the last three weeks it has actually regressed.
I break down some of the basic stats, play action vs standard drop back, and examine the full passing chart to see if we can find what is working, what isn't, and if there is an obvious answer.

Recruiting What it means: Michigan makes the cut for 2023 WR Chance Fitzgerald

2023 WR Chance Fitzgerald released his Top 12 today and it isn't exactly a surprise to see Michigan making the cut. Getting involved late here, the staff have done a good job working their way in to get a visit from Fitzgerald against Michigan State.

The visit, which would also come as no surprise, was good for the receiver. He appreciated the time he was able to spend with Jim Harbaugh talking about football and life.

So what does this mean from a recruiting standpoint? I think the Wolverines have some work to do in order to get up the pecking order. However, I still think they have priorities elsewhere, which include the recent Auburn decommit Karmello English.

English is clearly number one on their board at the receiver position and the Wolverines will give him the right to the first refusal. I get the sense that Michigan will want to take English first before anyone else if that's the direction it heads. There were plenty of positive reports from the visit after the fact but I have yet to hear anything new since.

I get the sense it's a Kentucky-Michigan race here. Keep an eye out for Demitrius Bell, who Kentucky covets ahead of English. If Bell commits to the Cats, things look good for the Wolverines here, in my opinion.

Insider Intel from last night on Donovan Edwards…

Initial intel I received from the hours after the game is that Donovan Edwards doesn’t appear to have any damage with the issue he’s working through (upper body).

They ran more tests this morning but I haven’t received word about how they went.

There doesn’t appear to be much concern, though, but I will continue to dig to see if anything has changed.

Stay tuned.

Big Ten silence on tunnel

A good discussion for this forum. A text exchange with some members here made for an interesting discussion on the merits of the Big Ten’s lack of public response to the tunnel apparent assault.

I’m having a REALLY hard time justifying Warrens lack of public commentary.

Further, Im really having a hard time reconciling it with this release (very good and swift reaction by Big Ten) 24 hours after another embarrassing showing of lack of sportsmanship.

Thoughts?
