9/11

Still angers me and gets me to tears every year. I watch basically 24 hours of Nat Geo. It's just so aweful I have to watch. Went there a few years after it happened and starred at the hole in the ground. It was incredible. Whatever you do tomorrow take a minute and remember those people we lost that day and God bless our first responders. Our country has never been the same since.....and never will be.

Just some thoughts on....

...on common sense.

People are complaining about the running game where last year people bitched about the passing game.

So lets look at that...
Last year JJ had no spring to gel with his receivers and was in a QB battle splitting 1st team reps with Cade. JJ didnt really hit a deep ball until osu. People expected waaay to much at the beginning of the season because they lack basic common sense.

This year with the running game no spring for Corum or Edwards and very little reps in fall camp. Lets add in replacing 3 olinemen and rotating both OT positions so no chance to gel with the oline on running plays. Timing is way off. Plus both backs are on a pitch count being eased back into things after rehabbing from surgery.

The lack of scoring over 50 pts can directly be attibuted to the new clock rules where Michigan will lose 8 to 10 plays a game as well as long time consuming drives that end in touchdowns. 10 to 15 pkay drives.

One more bitch fest is backup QBs. Again common sense is more than lacking with some on this.

The backups get limited reps during camp and during the week with few if any reps with the ones. They also have to split reps when they are with the 2s especially when there is a competition on who is the backup. They are also playing with a group of players who are splitting reps all week between the 2s 3s and 4s. So, simple common sense will tell you things like timing are always going to be off.

Its like trying to complain about the defense giving garbage pts when the 2s 3s and 4s are in. Keep in mind not only are they backups but they are put into a prevent defense which more than lends itself to giving up points.

So maybe some on here should try and look at facts and use some common sense before they bitch about every littke thing.

Insider Starting OL?

Connecting some dots with some info I received, it looks like there is an early leader to be the starting five OL.
First team reps have been shared among quite a few guys, but early performance suggests some leaders at the turn.
This was also the group Michigan brought out during their scrimmage for the first set of 1s.

LT-RT Henderson, Keegan, Nugent, Zinter, Hinton
Henderson leading for the left spot isn't a surprise, but Hinton has been a story early in fall camp, lots of praise coming from coaches and players.
Barnhart has been working at LT, so I wonder if/when Michigan moves him over to the RT battle? Been an assumption he would start there if he lost the LT job.

Not saying this is a done deal, long way to go, and I wouldn't be shocked if this bleeds into the season, but if I had to guess the starting five today this would be my guess.
