Brian Kelly

BK is very much on the hot seat. LSU is in a bit of a predicament as his buyout is just shy of $61 million (I believe that would be the 2nd highest buyout in CFB history correct me if I’m wrong) and allegedly they aren’t in a position to drop $60 million to kick him out (then again how many programs would be able to drop that on a moments notice?).

The article I linked above is rather scathing. Claiming he’s lost control of the team, that there’s no “want” from the players. Fans have always been skeptical of his hire, and many are now completely out. The article is pretty long but the TL;DR of it is that the talent is there but the coaching isn’t and it starts with Kelly. My good friend is a big LSU fan, he told me he hopes they lose out and that he hopes Michigan flips Underwood so LSU is forced to find a way to fire Kelly. One fan obviously doesn’t speak for the program but I live in the south, know many LSU people, and they’re all in the same boat. Even the rhetoric online is pretty damning for Kelly. I’m struggling to find any example of any largely supported defense of him. He’s now lost 3 consecutive games and the last 2 times that happened at LSU they fired their HC.

What’s my point? I think the whole staff is going to get blown up. If they can’t find the money for Kelly they’re at the very least going to replace their coordinators. And yes that means Sloan. Their OC and DC have little to no friends in Louisiana at the moment. However, that’s not even worth bringing up because I’m fairly confident they’re going to find the money to fire Kelly. You can argue they can’t afford it but I’m going to argue that they can’t afford not to. Nobody is happy with him right now, that means you’re not going to see donor support, their NIL will take a hit, and their on field performance will continue to spiral downwards. Raising the money to fire Kelly possibly eats into their NIL funds but even if it did I don’t think it would matter because you’re going to see a bit of an exodus of recruits and players regardless.

…and there’s no way their recruiting class isn’t seeing or hearing this. A loss to Vanderbilt this weekend might seal Kelly’s fate. Which might have some really good consequences for Michigan recruiting.

I am new to recruiting... how big of a deal is this?

Hey everyone - I graduated Michigan in 2016 and honestly didn't follow recruiting specifically until a year or so ago. Where does this land for Michigan?

I ask because I remember we landed Brandon Peters when I was in school and everyone thought that was huge and he was gonna change the program and he was not good at all.
Where does this land compared to getting JJ? Or Denard Robinson? Or Brandon Peters?

Apologies for my ignorance, I'm new! But obviously this is fantastic, incredible news.

Just curious how exactly to process this. Would love context!

Regardless, VERY thrilled and Go Blue!

With Underwoods flip to the good guys

I / we are curious where the direction of the offense is going moving forward.

Logically Moore & Michigan wanted to open up the passing game moving forward. That was mentioned in the offseason.
So, the question is now where are we going with an OC. Obviously the OC may be changing, who would make the jump to
Michigan to take us back to the top of CFB.

Josh, I am sure you and the boys have your ears to the ground trying to get the footsteps of those looking to come to Ann Arbor.

This is exciting, isn't it!
.
This may set a few of you all off, but BlueVod says hello. I received an email from him 2 weeks ago saying: HE'S BLUE.
Boy, a few people will now lose their minds. I haven't heard from him since 2015.

GO BLUE!

All the latest on Jahkeem Stewart..

I've been told others are ahead because of longer relationships but the numbers being thrown around are compelling. Stewart visits Oregon this weekend but if the five-star can slip a visit in to Ann Arbor before signing day then this could get more intriguing:

Recruiting On Jahkeem Stewart

Michigan is working to get back in this one and there has been some receptive talks. Multiple U-M coaches have talked to his circle and I expect Sherrone Moore to be in contact with Stewart in the next day or so if it hasn't happened already.

Does it go anywhere? Not sure but U-M isn't messing around if you know what I mean...
