McCaffrey

I’m watching the 49er’s game. They’ve marched right down the field and Christian McCaffrey was involved in every single play, either as a ball carrier or pass receiver.

As well-conditioned as our ball carriers might be, I’ve never seen them called upon to provide this much offense play after play. They head to the sidelines for a break about one out of every 3-4 plays.

McCaffrey’s conditioning must be unbelievable. Tomorrow he’ll probably spend a healthy amount of time in an ice bath.

Sanders kid

His kid has a $350k Rolls-Royce and is going to get his car booted by campus police over unpaid tickets. It'd not about the actual tickets. Who cares it about the entitlement this brat has.

This is why people don't like Coach Fraud and his whole family. They are not good people. He sucks as a coach and he's nothing but a media tramp. His kid is a good QB but as an NFL owner I would never draft a kid like this. He is a Me guy not a we guy. Kind of like his dad but can't be a QB with that attitude .

Why do we have to go through this...

....every damn week. Last year we couldn't throw the ball...13-1.

This year prior to nebraska..."I'm scared we can't run the ball"...well 249 yds.

Then we aren't throwing it enough but JJ is only playing 3 qtrs.

Then it's what's wrong with Edwards.

Then it's we can't run the ball....boom 227 yds agai st #1 rush D in the country...and 10-0

What bothers me most is people can't wait until Sunday or Monday to post their worthless click bait bullshit.

Today there was Barnhart was the problem. Did anyone see him get any help at all? HELL NO. he was up against a 1st round draft pick and another that will be next year.

Did you see Moore use that pass rush against them or both Edwards and Corum find cut back lanes for big runs? HELL NO. Great coaches take what a team gives them. That's what Moore did.

Michigan just kicked the hell out of the #10 team in the country if people on here just can't help themselves they have to find the negative!

Just give it a damn rest until Monday and let the rest of us enjoy the win . You may get off posting this bullshit to get a rise out of people but its well past old!!!

End of RANT

OK, we need to talk about The Don and where this goes.

For Edwards to be at 457 scrimmage yards (split roughly evenly between rushing and receiving) and 2 touchdowns through 9 games is probably about as disappointing a season, relative to expectations, as I can remember from a Michigan player. I don't know what happened since the end of last season. Maybe he started believing his own hype a bit? Maybe the lack of a full offseason set him back more than we thought?

Whatever the reason for his severe regression... where Corum/Mullings/Hall have posted a combined 5.3 yards per carry, Edwards is the one who can't seem to get going at 3.1.

For as much as Michigan fans love to hold up Mike Hart as the counter to any suggestion that rankings or measurables have predictive value... running back is probably the position where this is most often true. So much of what makes a RB great are things that don't show up in a combine workout and aren't often recognized/rewarded by recruiting services: vision, feel, patience, the toughness to run through arm tackles and fall forward...

At the moment, Edwards doesn't seem to have any of it. After his 3 game star turn to close out last season, he now looks uncomfortable and lost out of the backfield. He looks much more at ease at the second level and beyond than he looks getting to the second level. Mullings and Hall look much more natural carrying the ball, plus you have two very promising RB's incoming next season and Cabana still in the frame.

Also, Edwards remains a liability in pass pro.

Edwards is 6'1"/210, which is caught in the netherworld between RB and WR in terms of build.

With Wilson and Johnson exiting after this season and Darrius Clemons not emerging yet as many hoped, it really looks to me like receiver should be where Edwards' future is. Spend the offseason getting back down to around 200 and focus on the change-of-direction that will serve him as a receiver. Go all in on being a wideout (which, let's be honest, is more valued by the NFL anyway) and our primary trio next season can be Morris, Edwards and Morgan.

By the Numbers: Blake Corum becoming a Michigan Legend

Blake Corum added another paragraph to the story of his career yesterday. As Corum comes to the end of his time at Michigan, with still so much left to accomplish, he is within striking distance of multiple records, of becoming a legend.

English Premier League Talk

As a big Tottenham fan (COYS!) I'm super excited for the new Premier League season to start but don't really feel like jumping into the Gooner Talk thread (for obvious reasons 😂).

So after talking to Josh I decided to start this as a general EPL thread where folks can come with takes/conversation not limited to a single club. And honestly if you want to talk about a Club further down the ladder in the Championship, League 1, League 2, National League, etc., go for it!

I can't believe we're less than a month away from the first game. Spurs open at an Ivan Toney-less Brentford on Sunday 8/13 at 9:00 am local time here in A2. I know I'll be up at Conor's ready to watch and cheer on Tottenham (Brendan the GM confirmed they WILL be open for that game for sure). Will Harry Kane still be on the squad? I really hope so but obviously that's TBD.

If Levy sells Kane to Bayern or PSG I'd be 100% good with using the money to buy a couple of more strong young CB's and playing Richarlison up front.

Either way I'm fired up to see what Big Ange does as manager and finally have someone back steering the club who doesn't think the job is beneath him (Conte, Mourinho).

Who's your club and what has you either excited or nervous as we approach the new season?

Question for lawyers…

I am very confused about legal process. Someone takes an action that will imminently harm me. I seek a TRO as a means to forestall that harm — since an actual injunction would take longer and more process. Shouldn’t I expect a ruling on the TRO quickly?

How can our judge delay this for a week? Setting the hearing for a Friday before we travel again. I don’t care if she rules against us, but get it moving. Have a spine and make a ruling. Am I missing something?

I live and vote in Washtenaw County. Her actions to date do lead me to believe re-election is NOT in our best interests. Again. Make a ruling so we can all move on. A Friday hearing is ridiculous.

My 5 stars of the game

1. Blake the Great- just look at my dude's face postgame
2. The Don- should we just tell Don that Maryland is a top 10 team? He rises to the occasion it seems in every "big game"
3. Kenneth Grant- 340 pound DT chased down Allen from behind at midfield full sprint😳
4. Will Johnson- he was awful sticky in man coverage, he's gonna get another pick soon
5. Josh Wallace- he doesn't get enough credit- he gets better it seems every week. Great addition

Some "hidden" big plays yesterday...

Feel free to add some.

Semaj 19 yard tunnel screen on 3rd and 8 from the 25 - We answer psu’s initial FG with a tough 75 TD drive which would’ve resulted in a FG if not for his knack in space. He takes it from the 25 to the 6 and a couple plays later Blake finds the end zone.

JJ designed run on 3rd and 10 - This was on the aforementioned TD drive. Probably not "hidden"...but we immediately punt it back to PSU without it.

Rod Moore TFL - Now up 7-3 we need a stop to keep some momentum in a hostile environment. First down and Allen runs it right in our face for 9 yards on first down. Next play is a quick WR screen that, at the snap, had Moore giving an 11 yard cushion on 2nd and 1. Without any help (Mikey is being blocked) he fires like an absolute missile and closes those 11 yards in an instant. Suddenly it's 3rd and 2, and Allar narrowly misses a first down on a QB draw (one he gets had Moore not gotten the TFL). PSU punts.

JJ rope on the move for 12 to CJ - Next drive we're at our own 20. First and 10 and JJ gets immediate pressure from both Chop, and a blitzing LB on the other end. JJ rolls to his right and throws a strike to CJ on an out. Bonus hidden play to CJ as well as he fluidly turns it up field for 5 more to get us the first. A sack there and we're very likely punting.

Kenneth Grant being a 340lb freak - Ok...this one wasn't hidden, but I bring it up because Grant has to first blow up/toss aside none other than Michael Barrett to do so. Barrett is engaged somewhat with a psu lineman, and Grant sees Allen hitting the crease. Kenny tosses our own Barrett like a ragdoll, and then the chase was on. Dude would get drafted on that play alone. Michael Barrett probably got up complaining for a block in the back.

Rayshaun with the strip of Allar - Doesn't give up even though he's engaged, and not going to make the tackle. Textbook strip to kill any hope PSU had of continuing momentum to start the half.

Minter dialing up a Mikey blitz on 2nd and 9 late in the 4th - PSU is pinned at their 10. Mikey comes off the defensive right side and pressures Allar to a quick bad throw to #44. Had Allar had any normal pocket then that was a big gain waiting to happen. Will is left guarding two players (#44 and #13) and a throw to the slot picks up 15 yards.

AJ Fah-king Barner whips Chop Robinson 1 on 1 for the nail in the coffin - Michigan does what Michigan does best. Sherrone dials up Duo. Henderson and Keegan, and Drake and Zinter, double and erase both DT's (and Keegan beautifully comes off to pick up the LB firing down) The only thing standing in the way of Blake firing up the buses is a transfer TE from Indiana blocking an All Big Ten Defensive End. Ballgame.

Full transparency RE: Our confidence

I can only report on what we were told and sometimes outside forces can change that fact.

Last night, I had various people connected to this situation that were VERY confident that this would get done and no one I really spoke with was concerned with timing, even people directly involved in the process of filing.

Not pointing fingers, not trying to deflect, just trying to be transparent about why I said what I did last night.

It happens. Even leading up to the no decision today it was business as usual… until it wasn’t. That’s what these past few weeks have felt like, a bunch of head fakes and getting pulled in many different directions.

Shit happens, unfortunately. One thing I hope is true moving forward, I hope to never be reporting at the mercy of judges again lol.

I apologize for getting hopes up. I’m not going to sit here and say my sources were wrong because they felt good about the process all week. Timing sucks all around.

Transparency is what we want to promote here.
