This team won the first out right natty since WW2 less than a week ago, had its best 3 year stretch in 3 decades and already were talking about being bad next year? Questioning players on the roster, worrying about our schedule and predicting losses?

This team was historic, and exceeded every expectation, there will be a time and a place for our questions to be answered on the field but right now I think we should take a step back and just bask in the fact that the Michigan wolverines are national champions. Maybe im just an optimist but I trust our coaches and I believe they’ll put the best squad they possibly can on the field, they’ve earned that respect.

Did some asking around to get some early intel on both J.J. McCarthy’s decision and what Jim Harbaugh is currently thinking regarding the NFL.

For McCarthy, there does not appear to be a decision made one way or the other right now and I don’t get the sense that there is some painful deliberating going on, either. I could see a scenario where both McCarthy and Harbaugh’s decisions are linked but a decision has yet to be made. He has until the 15th to officially declare.

My guess RIGHT NOW is that he comes back but that’s not based on anything concrete. This will be a Michigan decision, a place he loves, and not an NFL decision.

Which brings me to Jim Harbaugh, received a text last night that alluded to Harbaugh staying at Michigan. It was suggested that if he were a betting man, he’d place his money on Harbaugh’s return. Not an indication of anything one way or the other but the NFL fear isn’t strong RIGHT NOW.

Harbaugh hasn’t made a decision on anything just yet but it certainly feels like the preference is to stay. That could change, of course, and I will continue to put an ear to the ground.

That’s all I have at the moment, I know it’s not much of substance but wanted to share what I was hearing at the very least.

No, I don't have a timeline for Harbaugh.

JJ can only stay four years, Harbaugh will have to work without him either way. The two have never explicitly said that if one goes, the other goes, or vice versa. It has felt they're linked because of their bond but the collegiate bond would only last one more season anyway.

We'll see what tomorrow brings but I have nothing to offer beyond that.

Soon Michigan wont have any options than to just keep Moore/Staff.
If Jim leaves late there won’t be many options.
Maybe that’s Jim’s move.

It isn’t enough that the man’s dead nor that Jordan was an unrepentant a-hole toward him….they had to go and make his widow cry too. Was at the game and was stunned by this. The worst thing I’ve ever seen at a live sporting event.

QB Thompson will play a 7th season at Oklahoma….how the in the world do you get to play 7 seasons of college football …that’s a grown arse man playing with kids he’s a 3rd year professional and they don’t want to open the gates to paying kids, it’s the reverse of not being able to go pro after 3 years because kids aren’t physically developed to play pro but you allow a fully grown man to play college football….smdh

Jim has every right to explore his NFL options; that said I’m sure we all hope his Chargers interview is a dud. I know from numerous conversations the last month that UM has been unrelenting in trying to get him to stay, and it’s good to see more honest reporting about that as well.

Coach

Great to see Coach Harbaugh visiting patients and their families at Mott. A little surprised that there weren't more players there with him. Very meaningful visit for Davis Warren who has been blessed with such a great recovery from his leukemia. I can never get enough of the coaches and players being positive influences in their community. Coach's heart is always in a good place!

Michigan Football was loaded with talent in 2023, but it was also driven by the leadership of veterans who returned to Michigan with "unfinished business."
Who could fill the leadership void for the Wolverines in 2024?
