Insider Quiet on the coaching front...

Not much out there right now on the coaching front, did my usual check-in today and haven't heard anything of substance back.

Sherrone and Joe Cullen are talking but Michigan will have to fend off interest from the NFL to get him. Can't predict which way this is going to go as of right now.

Just because no one is saying anything of substance doesn't mean that Sherrone isn't working behind the scenes, I can predict what kind of responses I'll get "concerning it's taking so long" etc.

Will continue to dig but wanted to get everyone up to speed coming out of the weekend.

Video Good Afternoon, Michigan Football; Staffing

Sherrone Moore contiunes to work on staffing for the football program. We take a look at who is coming back and who may be coming in. Also, thoughts on the committee set up by the Big Ten/SEC and the outlook for UM basketball.

Do not worry everyone!!

Not only is Moore a good football coach, he will do well at the University of Michigan. In addition, he’s going to be way better than Ryan Day and we are going to have a great football team this fall.

Also, don’t underestimate Orji. Not a Sam Webb fan, but he did hint that the next great Michigan QB is already on the roster. I do trust him and his sources.

Relax everyone!! Our future is bright!!! God bless :).

I really like nerding out about the future staff

Getting flashbacks to the 2021 offseason.
Thinking of all the different potential moves that you can make. Going down the rabbit hole of old staffs and finding connections between coaches.
I am excited to see what Sherrone puts together, but this reminds me what a nerd I am for this stuff. It's new, unknown, exciting.

My ideal defensive staff ... 2/3 version

In an ideal world . . . you can find enough titles and money to make something like this work

Come up with your own titles, we are all speculating and largely flying blind

DL- Elston
LB- Egorugwu
CB- Clinkscale
S- Roy Anderson or Aubrey Pleasant

Anderson was with Seattle last year (2023 season) with Clint Hurtt, who we know has coached with Sherrone so you would think that would not only be a link, but a source of thumbs up or thumbs down. Anderson was mentioned as a candidate along with Clink and Minter back in the 2021 or 2022 search when we were looking for defensive guys, due to his previous connections to Baltimore's staff. Despite all of the experience, he's still in his early side of his mid 40's (43)

Aubrey Pleasant, former UM GA and his name typically comes up in these things. Was a passing game coordinator or something of that ilk in Los Angeles but for the Rams. He was not promoted to DC in LA NOR was he promoted to DC in Atlanta with Raheem Morris. At some point, is taking over the #1 defense in America with several returning starters a quicker road to promotion than waiting out the NFL a la MacDonald and Minter?

I would call all four co-DC or include your Run Game Coordinator and Passing Game Coordinator titles to the two that aren't co-DCs but figure out the money (I know, easy spending other people's money, I get it) ... but this defensive staff would be LIGHTS OUT

And I grew up on 80's Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes and Hulk Hogan, so card subject to change as more information becomes available or warrants
