That was a fun draft!

That was one heck of a fun NFL Draft to watch this year!! You had an awesome crowd in Detroit to go along with all of the Michigan football stuff. You had Rich Eisen promoting Michigan non stop, the Michigan football team opening up the show with the trophy on stage, 13 Wolverines picked over the three days, Jim Harbaugh singing the victors after picking Junior Colson, my Rams picking Blake Corum, and hardly a mention of that school down south, etc etc. What a great draft to watch and what a great marketing event for Michigan football. I can only imagine being a Michigan fan AND a Lions fan watching that draft. Good stuff!

Favorite "Michigan" draft pick?

13 players drafted, which one is your favorite? Either a guy went to a team you like, or you think its the best fit, etc.

For me JJ to the Vikings is a perfect fit (that's why I wrote an article about it), I think QB success in the NFL can be a complete crapshoot almost out of the QBs control.
Is Mahomes the same Mahomes if the Bears draft him? No way. McCarthy fits the franchise, the community (midwest + hockey), the system (McVay tree), and the team has weapons.

My favorite that we didn't end up getting was Sainristil to the Steelers. He said he believes they were going to take him with the next pick but Washington took him first. Talk about a perfect fit, Mikey in a Steelers uniform??

Did anyone else make it to the draft?

We went for a few hours yesterday afternoon just to say we did. I like to watch the actual picks on TV so did not stick around for that. It was fun! Lots of good photo opps though of course there were longish lines for the Lions's helmet and uniform photo opps. We just did the uniform one. Very long lines to see the Lombardi Trophy, super bowl rings, and what I believe was a reproduction of the Lions locker room. We were lucky in that we could park at my husband's office, because some of the parking we saw had gouging prices, but the ingress and egress was easy/organized. Good signage. The entire draft area is fenced in as you have to go through a metal detector. They have lots of food and drink inside the fence but I hope people ventured outside the fence to go to local restaurants. All in all well worth the trip downtown and I'm glad we did it, it was fun to soak in the atmosphere and see all the crowds of people.

Recruiting On Savion Hiter…

Been playing a game of phone tag with the number one RB in 26 after his visit to Michigan but finally got him for some comments.

Michigan had his interest before Alford but they’ll be involved with his presence. Can’t say enough about how big his hire is.

Currently moving my parents into their new home so I’ll be a bit sparse today but hoping to get a full story up soon.

Major takeaway: “I can see myself in Michigan’s offense”
