I need some ideas…

I want to set up a giveaway for all of The Den subscribers for this commemorative football. I have one to give away and I want to make it the most fair competition where the human element (AKA me) doesn’t have to weigh too heavily on a choice.

Essentially, I want something to make a choice for me 😂

Any ideas on what the best way to give this football away would be? I’ll go with what the consensus thinks is best.

Insider Intel: On Lou Esposito's cryptic tweet, what does it mean?

Late Saturday evening, Michigan DL coach Lou Esposito perked up some folks with a cryptic tweet that makes it seem like good news is on the way for the U-M program.

Naturally, the question needs to be asked: What does it mean?

After doing some digging, I was told that the tweet in particular had to do with Kent State DL transfer CJ West, who the program offered earlier in the week.

Coincidentally, news started to come out from the visits that the Wolverines sit in an EXCELLENT position for 2025 Rivals50 DE prospect Nathaniel Marshall as well. I absolutely consider them the team to beat at the moment.

It appears that U-M's surge is separate from the West rumblings, which makes it an excellent weekend for the defensive line in Ann Arbor. I am not aware of any timelines or whether news is imminent but it's clear that the Wolverines program did a great job this weekend in recruiting.

UM Men's Lax repeating last years success?

Down 1 - 6 early in the 2nd quarter, UM took a halftime lead of 7-6 and outscored the #1 seeded John Hopkins (#2 RPI nationally) 9-1 after being down 1-6. Avenging a loss earlier in the season. Michigan plays Saturday night at 8 EST @ OSU lax stadium vs winner of PSU & Maryland. Looks like #8 PSU. Can UM avenge another previous loss and take home the B1G tourney trophy two years in a row & punch a second straight NCAA tourney appearance?

UM has the highest scoring offense in B1G that has 3 ranked in top 8 RPI. Doubtful they make the NCAA tournament with a loss on Saturday, so you might as well win!

Settlement With NCAA Imminent…

It looks like the Power Five conference commissioners have agreed to share 22% of their TV rights revenues with their student-athletes. In exchange the schools will not be held responsible for the payment of the billions of dollars in damages that will be adjudicated or negotiated in settlements of the four anti-trust lawsuits facing the NCAA.

Here’s the ESPN article from about 7 PM Thursday night.

Beyond the Depth Chart: Michigan's retooled WR room

Semaj Morgan and Tyler Morris lead a new-look wide receiver room for 2024.
Amorion Walker and CJ Charleston joined via the transfer portal Wednesday, and a depth chart of talent and potential is taking shape. But is it enough?

The portal window for undergrads is closed

While Michigan had SOME losses, I think they came out of this really well considering the program had an extra window to navigate with Harbaugh’s departure.

Grad transfers have an extra 24 hours to enter, by the way, so that takes away a layer of concern throughout the summer.

No, the checks aren’t bouncing. No, a mass exodus or fear of one didn’t happen. If some, not all, depth pieces want to chase the bag, that’s fine.

Not trying to do a victory lap or anything like that, just don’t fall for the bullshit for clicks. I know it sounds crass but that’s what it is, bullshit.
