Recruiting 2025 Rivals50 WR Andrew Marsh dishes on midweek visit to Michigan

This one went a little under the radar. His third visit, he will return for an official visit this fall. Great work by the staff here.

Hahahahaha

OSU fans are so amazingly mentally weak. The fan run sites are posting stories about how great losing Alford was, almost insinuating they “let him go”. Claiming UM fans are seeing why he is such a bad coach, since he has no commits and their brand new RB coach has a grand total of one.

Not surprisingly, OSU fans rates their coaches based on recruiting ability - not their ability to actually coach kids up.

Michigan Related: Post Your Rank of Favorite Sports with Your Favorite Teams Ranked in Each Sport Category…

I was talking to Pops last night about how quickly May has rebuilt the Wolverines team into what appears to be a very good team that will be competing immediately for the B1G 18 championship this year. I certainly expected a team that would have at least a .500 record with a ceiling of 17 to 20 wins at best. Basketball is a sport I don’t pay attention to until, in the case of Michigan Basketball, conference play begins. For the NBA, I don’t pay any attention until after the All-Star Game. Actually, I’m a bigger fan of USA Basketball in International Basketball Tournaments and in Olympic games over both. I watch tons of live sports of all kinds, and the conversation got me thinking about how I would rank them and the teams in the games that are my favorites ranked as well. Without further adieu, my rankings are as follows:

1). Football - Michigan, Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, UFL Michigan Panthers
2). Hockey - Detroit Red Wings, Michigan, All USA Hockey teams, Philadelphia Flyers
3). Baseball - Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies as 1a and 1b, Michigan, USA Baseball
4). Futbol - USMNT, MLS Philadelphia Union, English Premiere League club Liverpool, Polish National Team
5) Basketball - Detroit Pistons, Michigan, Philadelphia 76ers, USA Basketball, WNBA (No favorite)
6). Boxing - Pro boxing, USA team boxing
7). MMA - as a disciple of Kenpō, I can’t help but think my 24 yr old self would drop a good amount of those guys before Dana White banned me. Kenpō is not a competition friendly martial art, it’s a killing one. It is respectfully called “The Art of Killing” in Japan. At 24, in my prime, maintaining my football OL weight and muscle mass at 6-2, 250ish lbs and very proficient in Kenpō, knowing the human body’s 32 spots to strike that can result in instant death, proficient in disabling by serious injury to an adversary with a single strike or kick…yeah, I could take on many professional MMA fighters and win in 2 minutes or less. I have no interest in fighting 5 minute rounds. I used to be on a kick boxing team, and even fighting in 2 minute rounds is exhaustingly tough to do. That’s why I chose Kenpō, the martial art’s motto is “Be decisive, Be quick, Be first”. Usually my fights lasted less than a minute unless I was fighting against multiple opponents.
8). Motorsports - Drag racing, road course racing, rally racing, endurance racing, NASCAR road course racing
9). Winter Olympics
10). Lacrosse - Michigan, USA Lacrosse
11). Australian Rules Football - (No Favorite)
12). Rugby - USA Rugby
13). Tennis - I liked playing more than watching it live in attendance or on tv
14). Volleyball - Michigan, USA national teams, Women’s beach volleyball for the obvious reason.
15). Golf - since I lost the ability to play a round a 3-4 times a month, combined with the defection of top players to LIV Golf for ludicrous money, my interest has waned considerably.

There you have it. Now let’s see your top 5, 10, or top 15 ranked favorite sports and teams! Go!

Potentially Huge College Basketball news

Lakers are pursuing Dan Hurley. If he goes then the transfer portal would be flooded with great UConn players. I know Dusty is having Jamir Watkins visit this week but I wonder if plans for that final spot change if Hurley does indeed go to the NBA 🤔

Recruiting Michigan visit 'one of the best to date' for 2026 OL Breck Kolojay

"They hold their players, especially offensive lineman to an incredibly high standard, which just made the visit exceptional."

2026 OL Breck Kolojay goes in-depth on his first-ever visit to Michigan:

Recruiting On Shekai Mills-Knight

Really strong visit for him this week. Hope to have more from him soon.

"Visit was great. Highlight was getting to see the culture and I loved it, they’re very professional, pro-style. I got to see Development U and got to chop it up with one of the best strength coaches in the country. I also got to talk ball with two OGs Coach Jackson and Coach Alford. Coach Moore also a real one, I loved hanging with him and felt real comfortable around him."

Mass confusion, many moving parts, getting a #s advantage....we've seen the future of UM's offense

"If" its Orji starting, we've seen glimpses of the run game...Here's a quick 1 min 23 sec video of 4 plays showing Orji runs in games at UM games...in 3 of 4 plays, you see various players moving in many different directions pre & post snap (like a symphony), defenders confused, and UM getting a #s advantage (ie 5 on 3)....

-1st Play: The RG & RT pulled to the left...the Hback/TE on left side blocks left..the C, LG, & LT, block right, the RB lines up on the left of Orji and meets Orji at the mesh-point and is heading right for a sweep...The defense starts in a 5-man front with 8 in the box....The DT and DE on right of the offense both momentarily chase the RB going to the right...Orji reads these 2 defenders going right, and takes it right up the gut for the TD...

-2nd Play: UM has 3 WRs to left and right before the snap sends the RB in motion to the left...the ILB sees the RB in motion & leaves the middle of the field and sprints full speed to the left to play the RB in case of a swing pass (or RPO)...the play starts with 7 on 7 in middle, but ends up with Orji and 5 OLinemen (6) going against 4 DLineman and because the right DE over runs the play, it is actually 3 defenders with a chance to stop 6 UM players....and we know what happens..

-3rd Play: This is just power...we hike it to Orji running to the right side & pulling the left guard to the right...Orji apparently smelling the goal line, runs over his own left guard and 2-3 defenders at same time to the house...watch our RB's piledriving block on a defender

-4th Play: WR Semaj is lined up on right which is short side and we send him in motion to the left...when the ball is hiked, the RB goes to the left as well...with WR and RB going left, 4-5 defenders flow to the left with Semaj and the RB....in the mean time, we pull our C & LG to the right and we get that #s advantage....Orji almost takes it to the house and defender uses sideline to just push him out

IMHO, the run game is going to be difficult to handle with all the moving parts, defensive confusion, and getting those #s advantages....This is not just lining up and running up the gut!!! Add in a 250lb QB and with Dono gaining weight too and being a HR-hitter, and the read option/RPO game is going to SMASH!!

Four-star SDE Jaylen Williams update...

Caught up quickly with defensive end Jaylen Williams via text. He's taking his official visit to Michigan this weekend. Like @Josh Henschke I also think this one is close for the Wolverines.

"I’m really just looking forward to being back on campus and seeing the new staff at that place instead if them coming to see me," Williams said.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Williams end up in the class sooner than later.
