M&BR Message Board Rules & Regulations

In addition to the Yahoo Global Guidelines, please note that these rules are always subject to change:

M&BR Message Board Code of Conduct

Be kind: No one likes a jerk and we as a staff don’t want to promote a breeding ground for jerks, so, please, be kind to those who come here to hang out and connect with fellow Michigan fans.

No personal attacks: Personal attacks include, but are not limited to, those against the M&BR staff, moderators inside The Den, fellow users, student-athletes and coaching staff.

No swearing: We want this community to be welcomed by all and to be browsed at any place at any time, so please keep any foul language to a minimum. Self-censoring can be allowed within reason.

DO NOT STEAL PREMIUM INFORMATION: This one is bold and italicized for a reason as it’s an issue for any site with a message board and subscription function. No exceptions. Please do not take ANY paywalled information gathered from our site and take it to other outlets and social media. If a user is caught doing so it will be grounds for an immediate ban from the website without a chance to reconsider the standing with M&BR.

No crude images: Do not post any obscene, crude, racist, or homophobic content to the message boards. This includes photos, videos, and message board avatars and signatures.

No politics: Politics is a divisive issue in this day and age that intersects with the way we use social media. This is a Michigan Wolverines message board, so please keep the topics on-brand as that is why we’re all here. All threads and comments deemed political will be deleted. Political commentary also includes any images, videos, or message board avatars or signatures.

No trolling: It goes hand-in-hand with respecting other posters but trolling and/or flaming of any kind will not be tolerated on the boards.

Have fun! We want this place to be relaxing, bar-like, and a welcoming place for all Michigan fans to discuss their favorite program and players. All we ask is to do your best to help create and promote this atmosphere.

The Basics

- Off-topic posts can be allowed if said topic can follow the above rules and guidelines for message board conduct. Please label any off-topic posts with a qualifier (Off-topic, OT, etc.)

- Some light-hearted joking and poking fun can be allowed. Insults, threats, and harassment are where the ribbing crosses the line and won’t be tolerated.

- Any questions or concerns about the board and individual members can be sent via private message to Josh Henschke and the moderators. You can also email Josh at Josh@TheMaizeandBlueReview.com. Please do not air your complaints with a public thread on the Wolverine Den message board.

M&BR runs on a strict ‘Three strikes and you’re out’ basis

- If the staff and/or moderators of the board find that your post and/or thread has violated a Code of Conduct rule, your message and/or thread will be deleted immediately. You will be given a warning strike for your first offense via private message.

- A second strike comes with a week’s ‘timeout’ on the board. This means you will not be able to comment on the board but will still be able to observe.

- A third strike means a permanent ban from the message board. No exceptions. Banned cases will not be renewed.

- M&BR staff and moderators are entitled to skip the strike process and hand out ‘time outs’ and permanent bans on a case-by-case basis if the offense is deemed severe enough.

Harbaugh Is Paid Properly

Before you say it, I know, we’re 7-0. Got it.

And before I say anything I want to say great games by Corum, Haskins, O-Line, Entired Defense (especially the secondary), Turner, Hutch, and Eric (freaking) All! The team is playing it’s heart out. I hope they get a chance to make it special.

But all I’m asking is for y’all to be honest. You Gotta be real with yourself. Be real! Cade was so bad today. Don’t be what everybody around this region accuses us of being. We are locally and, on some level nationally accused of being delusional about our team. And being willfully blind of what is obviously there. Just admit it. Cade is not very good. He’s a good leader. He’s a great character guy, and the kind of player that either makes a medium road MAC team really good or a great team guy/back up on a B10 team. It’s OK to admit that - because it’s the truth. For any of you to take coach Fitz statement about Cade any way other than the fact that he and Jim Harbaugh are the same kind of person. They actually love the kids. Cade started to get booed at home. The crowd roared when McCarthy came on and groaned when Cade came back. I felt bad. When you love kids you don’t ever want to see that for them. So sure he gave some unsolicited praise. But come on guys… Don’t let your heart compensate for the talent that you know you don’t see. If Jim is who he was before Michigan, and who everyone is purporting he has gone back to being this year, he would’ve done what is best for the team to win big games and switched to the QB who could get you there. But he didn’t. And the schedule set up perfectly to do it too.

I got warned for calling him a loser in the game thread, and I checked myself because I should not have said it that way. But what I meant is, he doesn’t have the mentality of the winning coaches in the country. Dabo, Saban (dude yanked a guy in the championship game) even Kelly. You’re going to hate it but I’d bet Tucker would have, at the very least, split snaps today.

If he stays with Cade then the pay cut was warranted because he absolutely should not have been paid on their levels. He is paid properly. MODS if I’m violating something please delete the thread. I’m only just honestly communicating and not trying to be a Richard.

OT: track update (Ziyah Holman...and Hobbs Kessler---AA high schooler with a national record)

At the NCAA track regionals, Ziyah continued to impress. She finished 5th and qualified for the NCAA finals. She broke her existing school record and is now just .06 seconds from the Olympic Qualifying Trials standard. Ziyah is having a fantastic freshman year and will likely go down as one of Michigan's all-time greats. Michigan's women's team had 4 others qualify for NCAA's with 800 meter runner Aurora Rynda being the most likely to score along with Ziyah (she ran 2:01 to move to 3rd all time on the Michigan list). The men's team qualified 9 athletes to NCAA's (a super performance). The most likely to score at the finals are decathlete Ayden Owens, the 2 shot putters, and 1500 meter runner Tom Dodd).

Way OT: Hobbs Kessler, an AA Skyline senior set the junior 1500 meter record running 3:34. To put this in perspective, his record his FASTER than the existing collegiate record and equivalent to a 3:51 mile (Alan Webb's HS record is 3:53) for the same event. He may be the most talented high school mid-distance runner to ever come along (former Michigan runner Alan Webb and Jim Ryun are the only other 2 in this conversation). He is trained by former Michigan coach and legend Ron Warhurst, and routinely trains with Michigan alumni Nick Willis and Mason Ferlic. Unfortunately for Michigan fans, he chose to attend NAU for college (NAU is probably the top cross country program in the country and Kessler is also a national class mountain climber).

Michigan women embarassed blown out by Northwestern out of Big Ten Tournament

This team is so overated with only 2 girls who can score with absolutely no bench. Hillmon and Brown scored 36 of the 49 pts. Hillmon for her standards had a bad game due to nwestern defense and still had 26 pts 12 reb but only 9 in the second half. Michigan is slow not athletic and cant shoot from outside and a bench who scored 0.points

Summary Of The Differences

Spend a minute—as maddening as it may be—listening to the post-game locker room speeches by Urban Meyer and Ryan Day. I know I was aggravated.

Meyer summarizes the factors that were the foundation that lead to today’s moment. Day laid down the commitments expected from the players returning next season.

Some may call it BS...but maybe these may actually be fundamentals that go towards explaining how OSU does this so often. I just wish it was us.
