Recruiting What Cameron Calhoun's commitment means for Michigan's class of 2023

During the aftermath of yesterday's incredible Michigan win, DB Cameron Calhoun, a former Cincinnati commit, announced his pledge to the Wolverines' class of 2023 (he was a gameday visitor for OSU for The Game, which made the timing quite ironic).

More on what that means for Michigan's 2023 class, which has a chance to finish strong:

Not that it needs to be said, but I’ll say it…

Yesterday justified Harbaugh’s QB call. We don’t win that game with Cade.

JJ made 5-6 throws and 5-6 more plays with his feet that Cade just doesn’t have the athletic tools to make. And those plays were necessary for us to win the game.

The pass doesn’t open up the run like it did with Cade, who would have been sacked multiple times yesterday and would not have even attempted some of the throws that JJ completed or threw accurately enough to draw pass interference calls.

This was the game that finally called on more than Cade would have had to give.

The Second Half Today…

Is what happens when you cheat on defense. Those LB’s, Corners, and Safeties kept hanging around the Line of Scrimmage and eventually they paid for it. We hear all the time how teams are going to “stack the box” against us. To do that poses risks. Once a running back breaks through the line their are two or fewer players to make a tackle-thus the two long Edwards runs today. Same goes for the passing game in one on one coverage. It’s do or die as a defense and the Bucks died an agonizing, yet predictable, death today. The best part of the game today was JJ learning first hand that all he needs to do is see the coverage and put the ball on the receivers. Our offense took a big step today. I look forward to seeing how Purdue plans to defend us. Go Blue!
