Donovan ok?

Saw Donovan walking to the tunnel with about 4-5 minutes left-walking normally, no urgency, no limps. Did not see him return tho he may have. Anybody hear anything? I wondered if he just wanted to start a whirlpool/therapy early since he had a lot of game action. Or he had to go to the bathroom 😂.

As we look ahead…

We’ve eaten our fair share of humble pie this year. It’s disappointing to come crashing back to earth in such fashion. If we played like we did vs. NW all season we’re probably 9-2, and Oregon would’ve been closer.

Despite our record, today’s win and the *way* they got there / *how* it looked feels good.

Warren’s pick was bad, but overall we saw some growth. Evidenced by 16 climbing the pocket to make a throw when feeling pressure (though the times he did went incomplete but baby steps! haha). He’s had a bad habit of drifting and fading back when he feels heat. Progress.

In the second half (and the two minute drill at the end of the 1H), the OL had arguably it’s best performance of the year. Moving people, creating holes, and all RB’s had success. Feed Mullings!! Tip of the hat to Tavierre.

You can win a lot of games playing competent football.

Sherrone has taken his lumps this year, but this team is showing fight and not mailing it in. That’s a reflection of Sherrone and the quality of men on our roster. They came out of this second bye week the way we all hoped they’d come out of the first one before Illinois.

Does it change the outcome for next week? Probably not. Though I don’t think OSU looked elite today. But there is at least a path to doing the unthinkable now… that path was non-existent at the beginning of November.

Is it likely? No. Is there a chance? Yes. Win the turnover battle, win special teams, tackle well (improved vs. NW too), and turn it into a dog fight. We have nothing to lose and I’d hope we play like it for once. If it’s somewhat close late, all the pressure will be on the other sideline / staff.

Jordan Marshall looks the part. He’s going to be special and I think he should have some role in next weeks game plan. Even if it’s just a handful of touches. Be creative!

For the love of God, use Donovan in the passing game. Especially if OSU is going to be overtly aggressive with their blitzing like they were today vs. Indiana. Be creative!

Curious that Jyaire Hill (35), Jo’Ziah Edmond (41), and Cole Sullivan (23) all changed their numbers during the bye week. There may have been more, but those are the ones I noticed.

It’s just one game but this team needed this. Some confidence, some happiness, some growth, and positivity will carry over into practice. Knowing there’s a path to doing the unthinkable next Saturday has to be invigorating for a team that hasn’t had a lot to be excited about so far… Hopeful we see them build on what they did today.

They can do *one thing* to salvage the season and change the way 2024 is remembered. Let’s see what they do with the opportunity.

In the mean time, we can all admire the fireworks. Go Blue.

P.S. Feed Mullings!!

Colorado and Coach Prime

Colorado and specifically Coach Prime were much-maligned here last year as the most over-hyped and over-rated 4-win team in history!!!

Just watched their ending, as they beat down Utah 49-24, who they hadn't beat in years, and they now sit at 8-2 (1-11 just 2 years ago)...Commentators were talking B12 title and even the playoffs.....

So, is this board ready to give Coach Prime some props?????....LOL😁....
