Football Here’s my thing about the QBs…

Opinion based here, for transparency.

I don’t think it matters which horse you hitch your wagon to right now, and it doesn’t matter who takes the first snap tomorrow, both quarterbacks are going to be featured and we’ll ultimately see which one is the better fit.

Don’t get me wrong, having a guy that’s been the most consistent in the days leading up to the game matters a lot as you’re likely working with a stacked deck towards one guy but we all know practice good and game good are two different things. How these guys perform when it matters is the most important.

I’m not sitting here claiming to know scheme and claiming to know game plans, I don’t, but I think there is a way to let these guys duke it out in a way that you’re not totally derailing an offense out of momentum.

Good thing we will start to get some answers tomorrow!

My only guess on Orji

If they aren't going with him, the passing isn't there. You'd think he'd get the nod even if it was close.

He had the chance for a long time.

The coaches said multiple times, he has to run and take the job.

He was targeted as the guy. And still didn't win the job.

He has talent and I actually think him as a backup QB is probably not the best way to utilize that talent.

I hope he plays a lot in another role.

A word of thanks

While I was at the UM Club of Greater Detroit this week, Seth from MGoBlog made a really poignant note at the end of it. He said that if it weren’t for the fans, for the passion of Michigan, that we wouldn’t be sitting up at the front talking to other fans or do what we do on a daily basis.

And it’s so true.

In a business full of unnecessary egos and those who feel like they’re important, we are covering a team because of the passion of the fanbase. Because people care enough about it all that we’re able to do what we do.

I wouldn’t be where I am today without you all. As we’ve seen the growth from a message board community, our social media is growing faster. We’re coming along. It took some time, we’re going on three years and we’ve taken our lumps. People talking about us and being unnecessarily compared. We’ve heard and seen it all but we power through.

We wouldn’t be able to do this without the support of you all. When we get this thing off the ground fully, the amount of coverage and work we’ll be able to do increases. We’ll get there.

You know why we’ll get there? It’s because of you all.

Thank you, again, for everything. For being here, for the words of encouragement. Some days are harder than others trying to make sure we’re where we want to be but you all make it easy to stay focused. I owe you that much.

Really looking forward to the season ahead! We wouldn’t be able to do it without you.

It's Good News Wednesday! 8-28-24

My good news is that it is GAME WEEK!! I can't wait to see this version of the Michigan Wolverines. Everything is new and shiny, and yet much is the same. New coaches, players, and veteran leaders will light the path. GO BLUE!!

My 44th wedding Anniversary is on Friday. It's been quite a ride, and we have been blessed abundantly along the way. We still don't know how we will celebrate, but whatever she wants is fine with me.

My nephew and niece adopted a beautiful baby girl this week. We are over the moon happy for them. Hopefully, we will meet her in person this weekend.

The Lake Mary Little Leaguers are only 30 minutes from me, and the entire area is basking in their championship. It's always great when the USA wins, and it's double fun when the kids play just up the road.

IMHO, Conner Stallions is an official Michigan legend. I watched the Netflix show, and his genius blew me away. If I were the AD, I would hire him back as soon as the dust settled. He is a sign savant.

What's your good news?

Go Blue!

In the nearly 6 years I spent in A2, I was totally unaware..

Of what an absolute priceless treasure The Bentley Library is, though I’ve been in every library on campus countless times, The Bentley’s enormous amount source material was never remotely related to the historical primary and secondary source data I used for research for every type paper, thesis, and dissertation I wrote in my years as an undergrad and graduate student. It wasn’t until a few days ago, when I was looking for records of my great grandfather’s original polish name, which should have began approx. 1922-ish, that I discovered what a “hiding-in-plain sight” treasure trove of the History about Michigan, Ann Arbor, and the University The Bentley hides behind it’s walls. I’ve gone down the website rabbit hole a few nights already. And just for the Football Program alone, the have a complete history with tons of pictures dating back to the 19th century. Definitely worth checking out the website here…

BTN training camps

Last year @phd.esq posted about the BTN schedule of training camp shows and I was late to the party but I enjoyed watching the ones I did watch. I just checked and today is the Washington camp. Have I already missed a few? 😂 I know some don’t care for the BTN crew, but I am enough of a geek that I don’t mind it, I just ignore it when they praise James Franklin and Ryan Day, etc.

Michigan Wolverines in the NFL on cut day

NFL teams have cut their rosters to 53 players.
Michigan Wolverines are well-represented in the league, and today, some received great news while others unfortunately did not.
Here is a rolling list of players on roster and waived.

Student Section Seating Process

Hi there, Wolverine fans. Some of you may remember me as that weird Badger fan asshole who purchased a subscription to this page to talk shit after Hardy Watts committed to UW.

Well, I forgot to cancel my sub (you're welcome Josh), and I figured I'd try to make decent use out of it.

The Camp Randall student section seating process is abysmal. Only one gate is open to students for admission into the stadium. Once into the stadium, students are effectively lined up single file end escorted to their proper section. Believe it or not, it can take up to an hour and a half for big games for a student to get from gate to seat.

Could someone shed some light on the Michigan student section seating process and how long it generally takes to get from gate to seat?
