I think they have organized behind the scenes, a large group of people back in 2001, when they hired Jim Tressel. It is made up of Boosters, former athletes, alumni, and just pure fans alike of Ohio State. This is a Coalition that is funded and has objectives like a business. They were formed to do one thing and one thing only. Tear down the University of Michigan football program and reverse the overall record against Michigan and change the narrative. They've done that but their number 1 objective is not done. It's the OVERALL record and the mission of this group is not complete until that is done. They are doing it through any and all avenues and Herbstreit is one of them. He can't be too deliberate, but yesterday he slipped a little too far. He wanted to get that message out but he wasn't supposed to be that deliberate and intentional... Ala the Les Miles hire announcement he made. This is Mafia-esque and they are attacking at all levels, including changing the perception on the recruiting trail in Ohio AND Michigan. They wanted to start stealing the top Michigan athletes and in some cases, they are doing just that. Call me crazy, but I believe this and the evidence is pretty strong.
Michigan is going to have to do the same thing in order to get this right. This is what OSU means when they say it just means more. It's not just the standard framework of a College football program and builds. It's bigger.
