It's Good news Wednesday! 2-19-25

My good news is the Big Ten leading basketball team. Captain Obvious here says Friday night's game is HUGE. I hope we slap them back to the dumpster fire they came from.

My father-in-law's official 93rd birthday was last night. We had a big party a couple of weeks ago, combining some family birthdays, but we went and had dinner with him last night. He's doing well. He's still pretty sharp and witty.

My little brother's birthday is tomorrow. (57)

Every year at this time, our town (Eustis, FL) has a week-long celebration in honor of George Washington. They call it Georgefest. The week is filled with musical entertainment, beauty pageants, food, and a carnival, finally, it ends with a parade. One of the main attractions this year is the world's largest rubber duck.

You gotta love small towns.

What's your good news?

Insider 2027 QB to keep an eye on

Don't be surprised if you hear about a Michigan offer for Malachi Ziegler in the near future.

2027 QB with five-star potential from Louisiana. The Byrce waves are wild, and it appears that recruitment has gotten Ziegler's attention.
Early in the process, but is Ziegler is now a Rivals Top50 in his class, and at 6'3" 197 (AS A SOPHOMORE), you don't have to squint hard to see a college QB.

If an offer comes through, I'd expect a visit scheduled rather quickly, and I'll have a lot more to share at that point.

New CFB Path Forward

Stanford is doing a similar thing with Andrew Luck. Is this the new path forward for college football?

Transfer portal has seemed to calm down, a primary reason being schools having more funds to retain players. But another reason may be how many schools are hiring “GMs”. What Stanford and Cal are doing seems to be a bit different than what Michigan is doing with Sean Magee (but if I’m wrong correct me on this), and Michigan isn’t the only school using a GM in that manner, but point remains.

NIL and transfer portal are obviously running wild but seems like we may be headed towards stability sooner rather than later. Or at least I hope 😂
