and when it came to the TCU game. It is obvious that OSU gave TCU everything on us. OSU needs to be broken to shreds for their consistent cheating. Personally I am very confident that it will happen. This is an exact reason why Michigan needs to rehire Connor Stallions. As an offensive analyst he'd be remarkable with what he could produce for Sherrone & co.

Does Anyone Really Think…?

… that a fine of .000357% of Ohio State’s and Michigan’s athletic budgets will get their attention and stop post-game altercations? Who’s going to stop them, the ADs? The school presidents?

If the NCAA or individual conferences were serious about stopping ugly post-game incidents such as happened last Saturday, don’t fine the schools at all. Rather, establish a rule that if similar incidents occur again, that the coaches of both schools would be suspended for a game without pay. That would stop altercations such as happened in Columbus and at 7 other games last Saturday from ever happening again.

Then don’t spend any time at all studying videotape to see who started the fight and who was involved. We all know what a gang fight looks like. If one occurs at a football game, suspend both coaches without pay. That’ll stop them… in a hurry!

Tony Pettiti is a wuss and continues to be one.

Fun M vs OSU Numbers:

Since 2021, when Michigan first flipped the rivalry back, we have run for 877 yards in The Game.

That's 219 yards rushing per game.

OSU has had 391 total rushing yards over the same span:
98 yards rushing per game.

Yesterday's rushing disparity: 173 rushing yards (4.2 YPC) to 77 yards (3.0 YPC) was 2nd in this streak to 2021 where we washed out OSU on the ground 279 (7.2 YPC) to 64 yards (2.1 YPC).

Keep on running boys! The passing game will improve, and this team will be a real issue again.

Which brawls was Michigan apart of?

I heard about the one in 1971 when a fight broke out between us and Ohio St. I think that’s the same game when Woody Hayes threw a tantrum.

Know about the melee between us and Notre Dame in 1988, right before the game.

Ohio St in 2011 and 2013.

MSU in 2022 and 2024.

And of course, the big one in Saturday between us and Ohio State.

Am I missing any??

Very Apparent Early On That This Was Going to be a Close Game

Early in the 2nd Quarter, there were a series of plays that made it very obvious we were in OSU's head. After Howard went out for a play and the Judkins 4th down conversion, OSU was celebrating like they won the Super Bowl. Will Howard was doing wind sprints on the sidelines hyping the crowd up. There was a timeout called during that drive, and they were all running off the field pumping the crowd up.

It was all so performative and dramatic. It's like they were trying to convince themselves them were into it. And even coming out of Halftime, Jenny Taft said that Day's primary message was play with emotion. That's the opposite. All they needed to do was execute. Instead, it devolved into another attempt to out-emote and out-tough UM. And it backfired tremendously.

Not sure how much longer Ryan Day has, but as long as he is there, his team will contine to be walking caricatures of him. Talk a big game. Tough when it doesn't matter. And fold under pressure.

Take a trip with me back to signing day 2021

Signing day was complete and OSU landed a class for the ages.

In the top 10 overall recruits, OSU landed #1 Quinn Ewers, #2 JT Tuimoloau, #6 Jack Sawyer, #7 Donovan Jackson, and #8 Emeka Egbuka. Treveyon Henderson came in at #11. That gave them the #1 QB, #1 DE, #4 DE, #1 G, #1 WR and #1 RB. They had 12 players in the top 100 and also had #101.

UM had 3 guys in the top 100. The Don at 33, JJ at 38 (no, he wasn't a consensus 5 star), and El Hadi at 88.

Four years later, that vaunted class is 0-4 and their greatest accomplishment is ripping the M flag out of a Michigan player's hand at midfield after another loss at home.

Those gold pants are gonna be worth a lot pretty soon. Rare items.

RIP Lou Carnesecca at 99 yrs young!

His St John's teams were fun to watch, especially the mid 80s with Chris Mullin, Mark Jackson, Walter Berry, & Bill Winnington! The classic battles with Georgetown and Patrick Ewing etc. Were must see college basketball.
