Michigan's five commits on the NTDP U-17 team made their mark in the US national team's silver medal performance at the 2014 World U-17 Hockey Challenge, an international tournament held October 31 through November 8, at the RBC Centre and Shores Recreational Centre in Sarnia, Ontario.

Team USA steamrolled through the preliminary rounds, racking up five consecutive wins over three Canadian teams, Sweden and Slovakia. The NTDP squad turned aside Sweden 4-1 in the semifinal game before being edged by Russia, 2-1 in the final.

Forward Nick Pastujov led the offensive charge from among the Wolverine commits in single-game performances, bagging a goal and two assists in the prelim round 6-3 win over Sweden. Pastujov was joined by fellow UM commit William Lockwood with two goals each in a 7-1 rout over Slovakia.

Not on the scoresheet but notable for Michigan followers was Griffin Luce's recovery from a lower body injury to play in the tourney's final four games.

William Lockwood (F) 3 goals - 0 assists - 3 points
