Walton and Albrecht - Small Guards

Been watching UoM bball for over 50 years. I cannot recall a smaller pair of point guards than DW and SA since the 1962-63 season when the starting backcourt consisted of Bob Cantrell and Doug Herner, both of whom were under 6 feet.

These guys could be 4 ft as long as they could play . I do believe

Albrecht is arguably the best backup pg in UM history. I think someone mentioned another guy from the early 70's. Name escapes me right now.

Albrecht was a great addition. No one ever questions offering that scholly.

Walton and Albrecht are smaller guards but historically they are not on the court at the same time very often. They are both very good but it would be hard to have them on the court at the same time against the better teams because one of them would most likely be matched up against a 6'6" off guard. I really like our overall perimeter game....my concerns are more with the post players where we will get exposed against the better teams. I'm hoping the young bigs develop quickly.
