Caris & Walton did not get injured?
Michigan lost to Villinova, NJIT, Eastern Michigan, Arizona, SMU, Purdue and Ohio State with both of them.
So would Michigan have beat: Wisconsin, Michigan State x2, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio State, Maryland, Northwestern?
(Bold = Tourney teams)
I say they could have won at least 4 of the 9 games. That would have put them at 19-11 / 12-6. Is that good enough for the Tourney this year with the committee knowing that Michigan was at full strength with that record
How about if Walton did not get hurt? Maybe good for another 2 wins?
How would have this team have looked this year if Mitch and Glenn came back? Just think what could have been with a lineup of Walton, LeVert, Irvin, Robinson & McGary. A Big Ten title and beyond!
A lot of what ifs this year!
The basketball gods did not look kindly on Michigan this year. I hope to see them playing a few more games in the NIT!
Go Blue!
