They will only have 75 of a possible 85 scholarship players available Saturday. And that doesn't further discount for freshman redshirts and injured guys either.
They could reasonably face us with only 60-65 scholarship players available to see the field. Offense and Defense 2 deep, plus specialists, get them to 47 or so. Yikes that is thin!!!
Betting on early season college football has ALWAYS been one of the best best out there...but wow. What scares me is when Vegas fails to take a game like this "off the board", and instead there is a line that no reasonable person would think is right. Too often I have seen the 'What the heck are they thinking" line turn out to be much better than expected (usually because the sharps know something we don't).
Anybody have a reasonable explanation?
