This is a serious question, but why has recruiting been so slow. I know JH came into the mix late, but I was honestly expecting a ton of flipped recruits. Narduzzi went to Pitt late and is already bringing in people left and right, so is UM being more selective, holding onto the scholarships for next year, or just waiting till signing day to see who signs

Whatever it is, I'm just not worried about it. 2016 is going to be a great class. My guess is that, yes, they are being more selective...targeting guys who are either already committed or who are being pursued by top programs. If Harbaugh wanted to flip a bunch of guys committed to mid-majors, I'm sure that he could. He's going after guys committed to Texas, Standford, Nebraska, Wisconsin...or guys considering USC, UCLA, Georgia, Florida. Those guys have other good options, so it's harder to come in and just flip them because you're Jimmy Harbaugh and you have an M on your shirt.

It was slow for a while. It looked like a case of extreamly bad timing and terrible situation Hoke left.

It's picked up considerably now.

Narduzzi is off to a good start, but honestly

It's easier to bring in guys when they're "mid-tier guys" vs. "top-notch recruits." I think Brightwell is a great get for Pittsburgh, but for the other 6 guys Narduzzi has brought in, they're really not top-notch.

Not to say they won't become top-notch --- that's been Narduzzi's MO of late, he can really sell "you may be a 2-3 star guy now, but I will coach you up into 4-star talent."

Anyway, point-being, Pitt isn't U-M. This past month, Pitt's targeting mid-tier guys with upside, that's a relatively easy sell for the Panthers. U-M seems to be much more selective, while keeping in mind the real goal is a top-notch 2016 class. If there isn't a top-notch 2016 class (doubtful), then U-M fans should begin to worry.

somebody ask spartanation he has ALL the answers-adios

One Thing For Sure. Signing Day will be the same as when LC was around

with suspense, some surprises and some sadness.

I'm not worried about it. However, here is a major factor that hasn't been mentioned. Out of our entire staff, only Greg Mattison and DJ Durkin were coaching in college last year. So, while Narduzzi has been figuring out who he wants and who he has talked to while recruiting at Michigan State, almost the entire Michigan staff is starting from scratch. Narduzzi and his coaches had probably already been face to face with some of these prospects while recruiting for other schools, and Harbaugh's staff has only had 2 weeks to do that. They're trying to establish legit prospects, establish relationships, and get commits from guys in 2 weeks, whereas the schools he is competing against have been on these kids for a year or two.

I expect the '16 class to look a lot better than this year. With that being said, they're not done this year, and our class was going to be small for the simple fact that we don't have a big senior class.

I think it's possible that we get a few more good recruits on or before signing day, but the one really good thing we got going for us now is that we already have a bunch of good recruits from Hokes previous classes that JH and staff will be able to coach up.

He's got a 3* from FL with ok offers and a a 4* qb with pretty good offers. Overall, not bad for having a small class and taking over someone else's recruiting class.

Take home lesson is not everybody can be an Urban Meyer

Of course ya know. Cause that's what JH is shooting for. To be just like Meyer.

In college you can have a subpar class every once in a while. You just have to make sure you follow it up with a few really solid classes. There is plenty of talent on the roster already.
