Apologies if I've missed more indepth discussion on this topic, but I'm curious to hear thoughts on this. I know there's been a lot of discussion on firing DB and reasons for doing so. But I was a little surprised to see commentary that there's a very good chance that Gattis will also be fired. Big picture, I like the general direction they're taking the offense and I thought the offense looked fantastic with a decent QB running it (i.e., Cade before he got hurt). Having said that, there are several things I've been frustrated with re the offense - (1) selection and development of QBs - seems odd that staff couldn't recognize Milton's weaknesses and see Cade was better option earlier in process and QB development has obviously been an issue; (2) I hate the RB rotation, don't understand it and think it has hurt productivity; (3) I despise the wildcat and wish they'd drop it; and (4) I'm frustrated when receivers drop easy catches, players fumble, and players lack effort (like not blocking like a certain TE) and continue to play. How much of this is on Gattis (versus Harbaugh stepping in)? Has he been given full authority to run the offense and make all decisions? If yes, then most of this falls on him. I still wouldn't fire him at this juncture, but as HC, I'd step in on these types of issues and override Gattis where needed. But these issues aside, I've liked the direction of the offense and think it could be excellent once we have a QB, the OL develops (which I think it will) and some of these other issues are addressed (#4 being more a culture issue). Thoughts?
