i know, i know, cats aren't as cool as dogs. but this guy just turned ten and has been with us for a cross country move, two kids, two dogs and another cat.
diagnosed with congestive heart failure in january and has been on major meds since. they said he could live another 6-12 months and now it's been 9. he isn't really eating and is hiding under the bed. comes out twice a day for some water and that's about it.
doesn't seem like he's in major pain but has lost a bunch of weight. he could probably go a few more days or a week but i'm reading it's better to let them go a week too early than a day too late.
putting down animals sucks! would appreciate any posts on when you knew it was time to let them go (cat or dog or pig or hamster or raccoon).
we're having a vet come over so he doesn't have to go through a car ride to the vet that would stress him out more.
