Ethan Edwards, a 5-9 155 pound defenseman, has committed to Michigan, likely for the incoming class of either 2020 or 2021.

Edwards, a native of St. Albert, Alberta, currently plays prep hockey in northern Alberta. His rights are owned by Spruce Grove of the AJHL (Alberta Junior Hockey League) a possible preparation ground before he hits Ann Arbor.

Edwards skill set and size are similar to current Michigan freshman defenseman Nick Blankenburg.
Blankenburg also came to Michigan from the AJHL, although Blankenburg is a Michigan native.

Mel Pearson and his staff have found another slick skating defensive prospect to add to the mix in a couple of years.
