  • MSU (esp.) and PSU are very beatable, even with the night game and Dantonio's certain-to-be unholy, Ahabesque rage leading into his almost-certainly last game in Ann Arbor.
  • Similarly, you can see a path to beating ND at home.
  • With the emergence of McGrone and Dwumfour's return, the middle of the defense is not the liability it was in the first three games and the defense as a whole is capable of shutting down at least PSU and MSU and playing well enough to beat ND.
That's for the good. For the bad, I see anything but one heartbeat from this team and program and it stems back to the last two bowl games and the lack of attention to detail. It is profoundly disturbing and speaks to issues beyond scheme or failure to execute on any particular play.

That's my view from the cheap seats. I hope I am wrong.
