So my 85 year-old uncle died last week after a long battle with diabetes and heart complications. RIP.
He was a good man and a positive influence on me 40 years ago when I was a kid. We have not been close since then. He also is/was a huge Sparty. So his wife/my aunt (who was always a mean one) decides to schedule the funeral for -- you guessed it -- October 30 at 12 noon. I mean WTF? He is dead and cremated already. Why do we need to wait three weeks? This is no-win.
The only reason to go would be to make my Mom happy. If my Dad goes and I don't, he will be mad as H. He is as big a Wolverine as I am...
So Fort sisters and brothers, some advice please...
How do I avoid the funeral gracefully?
Will St. Peter judge me harshly at the pearly gates?
How do I get my Dad off the hook also?
My best brainstorm to date is that I have tickets to the game (not true but fixable)...
Help!
