Some verified track times for players in the 2019 class. Yes, we're all aware that these times are inflated despite being verified times. Yes, we understand Dax Hill's 40 time would have been the fastest time at the 2018 NFL combine and tied for the 9th fastest time the last ten years. We get it. Thanks.
Some takeaways:
1. Dax Hill is a freak athlete. He's nearly DPJ-level freak. Recall DPJ won the SPARQ title at The Opening when he was a junior. Hill's score is nearly as good.
2. Quinten Johnson is an underrated recruit that should be talked about more on the board, at least in terms of his athleticism. He's an elite athlete (and fast): 8th best SPARQ score in the country this year.
3. Giles Jackson is the lighting in a bottle waterbug with speed that Michigan's been missing since . . . Desmond Howard? He has top end speed (40 time) and his change of direction (shuttle) is ridiculous. I suspect Sainristil is very, very similar. But he did not attend any camps (or at least I couldn't find any results on the internet).
4. David Ojabo is a good athlete at 6'5 240. His Opening 40-time is identical to Rashan Gary's Opening 40-time (4.74) and his shuttle is nearly identical (Gary had 4.38, Ojabo had 4.40). However, keep in mind Gary tested at 47 pounds heavier. Gary is a freak (his SPARQ was 109.17).
5. Kyle Ford is a great athlete, especially for his size. I hope he commits to Michigan, rehabs his knee, and returns to form. But I wonder if that ship has sailed (or won't get a chance to sail) with Michigan's interest in this new under the radar receiver from Kansas City.
