Junior combo guard Kevin Huerter of Clifton Park (N.Y.) Shenendehowa High has earned offers from Iowa, Penn State, Marquette, Maryland, Texas Tech, Miami, Rice, Xavier and Creighton, since Friday after playing well at the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League in Hampton, Va. Michigan, Notre Dame, and Syracuse, are beginning the recruiting process and showing interest.

It turns out that Huerter has a high school teammate, whose dad played for Michigan coach John Beilein back when he was coaching at Le Moyne. Huerter was well-versed on Michigan's recent success, and wants to study business in college.

The 6-foot-5, 170-pound Huerter previously had offers from George Washington, Albany, Duquesne Siena, and Davidson, and a host of Ivy League schools were in the mix.
